Depending on the years these loans were taken out, it may be worth giving FSCS a call, if these loans were post 14th Jan 05 then they may be able to help as the company that sold the PPI has gone bust.

I found page on the web (sorry but this site won't let me post a web link in a first post as I'm a new user) which has what looks like a current address for Halifax Cetelem - now Cetelem Ltd - but it appears they are in liquidation...

just an update from me
didnt have any luck with the above mentioned glasgow address, however after asking my then bank (barclays) for my bank statements over the time of the halifax cetelem loan i discovered that Barclays themselves are their financial partners, bank statements for the HC loan appear as BARCLAYS PARTNER FINANCE, so i took a jump and sent them my PPI from, and this morning received a letter for £3067!
so im no fiancial wiz kid but it seems this company was/is trading alongside the more well known banks, and they are now liable for halifax cetelem miss-selling PPI

Hi Angelabh, can you tell me when your loan ended? Mine finished in 2005 so i'm just wondering if Barclays would still liable?

Has anyone had any luck with these guys? I had a store card from DuhDuh Dixons which was run through Halifax Cetelem which looking at the statements aparently has insurance on it which I didn't know about! - reading the previous posts here though it doesn't look very hopeful, and even a PPI claim company didn't have any luck? that doesn't bode well!

I'm having the same issue... I've called my bank got statement which says 'Halifax Cetelem' on the DD payments. So called Halifax, they have no record of the loan but are investigating further and sending me a questionnaire to fill in.

Looking at the threads above should I try calling Barclays?

I have been trying for years now and got nowhere with this company. I have tried two different PPI companies and given them all my documentation, and still have got nothing back. I have original documents and everything, when the loan started and finished. This is the only time that I was sold PPI, and if memory serves I didnt even ask for it, so I am feeling a bit aggrieved. I did try when I got the loan, but still no joy. Especially when there are all these adverts saying that you dont need any paperwork, what a load of codswollop.

I have just contacted Barclay's Partner Finance and have to write to them to check, which I will be doing now. If I get anywhere shall post it in here, or if anyone else has any success please let us all know.
