As long as it is disclosed. I have not employed people before because although the CRB check came back with minor convictions they had not disclosed them, therefore dishonest = no job.

I also had one CRB check come back that the bloke had been jailed for murder - when challenged he admitted he had killed his wife. No job for him either :)

But i honestly believed it was spent
i did declare the driving without insurance

You do know though that this report is going to be seen by your employer.

So you have nothing to lose in getting in first and going and discussing this now with the relevant manager.

At least you will know their attitude towards this!

Only recordable offences are shown on a CRB check. Speeding is not a recordable offence but drink driving is (for example). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recordable_offence

However they are all convictions. This includes licence points from a fixed penalty.

In normal circumstances you only need to declare convictions until they count as "spent" under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. But some roles (eg Police Officer) are exempt from ROA and you must declare ALL convictions even if considered as spent.

I advise getting in first to employer and disclosing.

Does anyone know if motoring convictions show on a CRB check:confused:

I am starting to look for a new job and the jobs I will go for will require a CRB check.

If you are a native born and bred in this country then yes. Even for non conviction. If your are from overseas No.

Each Police Force maintains a local record of "non-conviction" information, which is referred to on a CRB check in the "Other relevant information" section, and is often known as "soft intelligence" or "additional information". It is possible that this will be disclosed in an enhanced CRB check. Enhanced CRB can contain non conviction.

    'non-conviction information' includes the following:
    • Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN's)
    • Penalty Notices for Disorder (PND's)
    • Findings of innocence
    • Aquittals
    • Cautions and convictions of those that you live with
    • Other Police intelligence (including allegations)
This is from the CRB website:-

"As the CRB cannot access criminal records held overseas, a CRB check may not provide a complete picture of an individual's criminal record".

Criminal Record checks only check UK databases so people who come to work in Britain from overseas and apply for a CRB will have a clean record even if they have previous conviction in their own country.
