  • Went back last evening to Newbury, to see if their stock was any different and oddly it was. Picked up a Hot Wheels set that I didn't see in Calcot, a Belle Disney doll, a ballerina Barbie that was £3, lots of little transformers for 1.50 each, a biggish optimus prime for £6, moshi monster card tin for 4.99, a my little pony hot air balloon, and I asked the shop assistant if he had any of the packs of little moshi monsters and he brought out a box and said they were the last :) I ended up only buying two though because I didn't realise they doubled up in them! They also had tons of the little disney princess bits that look like polly pocket, and cars 2 lego.
  • hiya, just to let people know, I was in wilkinsons in Ashton yesterday and I saw a peppa pig kitchen for £15, I'm not sure if its the same one tho. It looked quite good, i'v already bought my little girl the Hello Kitty one from Tesco for £30 from £60, its the same as that but Peppa pig. In box with the kettle and toaster on top. HTH
  • You did get the Tangled brush for half price,I saw them in my Sainsburys a couple of weeks ago and they were £5.99  (the one I saw is a little one that lights up)

    hth
I Looked at the receipt it never said half price, i didnt really want to pay 2.99 let alone 5.99! yeah it was the one that lights up its tiny as well bit off a rip off me thinks :)
  • Sadly just like with the Sun newspaper promotion , people see Lego as a speculator to profit from. In all reality there are few "rare" sets that demand high prices and as they all get put on ebay if anything it drives the prices down. Good example of that is the Harry Potter Lab set - pre sun promotion it commanded prices of 20+, not any longer, so ultimately those hoarding to make a profit may be in for a surprise..
  • Anyone been and can you advise if it is worth a trip there today - bit of a trek for me but I think it is the nearest large store.

    Thanks

I agree, add in postage, paypal fees and I don't think they would make much, especially as it is only half price from sainsbury high prices to start with.

I suppose you could buy from Sains, stick on Ebay BIN and then if it doesn't sell return to Sains for refund and it would not cost you more than the listing and petrol. Or if you run a small toyshop it may be cheaper to buy from Sains than from Lego wholesaler.
  • ok ladies and gents, honest opinions please.......................

I picked up an animagic hopping bunny today for my 4 year, whilst it looks very cute, I've just read the reviews on argos and a lot of people who have purchased have complained it doesn't really hop and makes funny noises also motor very noisy. I can't check re hopping and don't want to wait until christmas when she opens it and it's useless. Anyone have one of these please and what do you think of it?? paid £9 instead of £18

I bought the rabbit in last years sale thinking it would be good. The novelty of it attracted LO's (2 yrs old) attention for a while on the first day. Then it sat in the toy box and maybe once a fortnight my LO would play with it for 5 mins (bascially feeding it until it makes burp & wee sounds and then would put it back). My 4 year old didn't play with it at all. However a friend came to visit and loved it. Personally, I wish I had saved myself the money or got something else instead.

Thank you for your input. I've decided the bunny is going to hop back to the store for a refund!! Its a 40 mile round trip but least I get to see what else they have while I'm there think I'm going to tackle it monday morning when the oldest has gone back to school don't think I can face the mayhem at the weekend!!
  • hope this hasn't been mentioned as haven't read all posts but those looking for kiddizoom cameras, look in the camera department, i went to my store last night and whilst having a look around noticed they were next to all other cameras and half price, the shelf was full as i'm assuming noone had looked there and they were quite hard to spot in a bottom corner!!
