I spent half an hour argueing with the woman at customer services because she said they only reduced damaged items, they never reduce items which are in good condition!

After awhile I had 3 B&Q employees gathered round me argueing & they gave in & took the hooks off another mirror to give to me.
My guess is the problem is management. I'm guessing chances are someone will have to take the rap for having to take fittings off another mirror, and there will be some sort of penalty. If there weren't they'd have just handed you the fittings within minutes of coming into the store. I know I would have. Just shows that management makes or breaks business really.

How about asking if their wages are reduced because they're damaged goods? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • If a product has bits missing then they'll give you a replacement or the missing parts, however it depends if the store has any in stock and if there are any spare bits around, i.e. opening sealed boxes to take replacement parts out is discouraged but we'd usually do it if we had to in order to keep the customer happy.

Usually it's not a big deal, I'm surprised at the problems above. Anything that's special order and not stocked is more complicated though.

Not true. B&Q will never sell off ex display electrical items that have had a current running through them (eh light's) as it's illegal to do so.

So how come Currys Argos etc can sell off ex display tellys etc

I'm not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close miss yesterday.
I walked into B&Q and some old guy dressed in orange asked me if I wanted decking.
Fortunately, I got the first punch in and that was the end of that.
Those less suspecting might not be so lucky, so please pass this on to your friends, family and colleagues.......

We picked up a Culligan Taste Fresh Protection Plus drinking water filter system today at B&Q for just £12, reduced from £79. You install these yourself under the sink and each cartridge lasts for 4-6 months; the cartridges are available on the Culligan website for about £25. Link to picture of item on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/BN-Culligan-Protection-Plus-Drinking-Water-FilterSystem_W0QQitemZ320075978964QQihZ011QQcategoryZ20684QQcmdZViewItem

This was at the Sheffield Queen Rd store, they had several left though all had slightly damaged packaging. This seems to be a discontinued model as they are not available on the Culligan website or the B&Q website, so it's possible that other B&Q stores will have them in.

I thought this was a great bargain.
I have been after a sack trolley for ages and in screwfix they were £50 odd and second hand on ebay about £25 so i was over the moon when i saw them in B & Q for £14.99. Great for my mega heavy bouncy castle and more importantly great for moving my dodgy dishwasher out without tearing my lino .
Hope someone else is as sad as me and gets excited about a bargain sack trolley!
One i got was red and i can be wheeled aith ease on it(great fun too!) so they take a fair old weight!
They also had a silver one slightly different for similar price.

Went into B&Q Erdington (Birmingham) yesterday and came away with the following roller blinds:

6ft Blue Blackout Blind for £3.00
    4ft 'Suede' Blind for £2.00
    3ft 'Suede' Blind for £1.50

    Total Saving - £56.64 :j

They also had some brilliant deals on venetian blinds and the staff were reducing whichever you chose to the above prices, irrespective of colour, style or pattern!
