Went online today and put in my information but I'm not valid. I spent enough but had 3 items the same as they were on offer, and 2 items for a bogof. This meant I only had 7 different items so I wasnt valid, 1 stick of chewing gum I would qulify but no where in store does it state 8 items, its only in the small print online. The till person could have said but no. I had only spent bout 35 quid but thought I would up it to 40 to qualify, now I wish I hadnt it was all a big con.0

I have just entered details for the £40+ spend and i did get a voucher for 65p because the shopping was cheaper but no £5 voucher.
Bad programming it seems if your shopping is cheaper you will only get the discount voucher for the cheaper shopping and the £5 voucher becomes void.
System doesnt seem to cope with getting a £5 voucher and a discount on the receipt.
Bad bad programming or intentional?0 -

I've had the £5 both when my shopping at Asda was cheaper, and when it wasn't so I had another voucher on top. Perhaps e-mail or ring them.0 -
The latest £5 off £40 shop finished on 11/12/11 (see the terms and conditions on Asda web site)0

why do asda bother to offer £5 off when they make it incredibly awkward to redeem... you can print your voucher instore but you cant do it the same day as they have to wait 13 hours, so have to carry the receipt with me for next time (my printers not working) went in on my next shop with trusty receipt in pocket but the instore machine was out of order
so did my shop (over £40
so kept that one too for next visit .. machine still not working on next trip, so did my shop and on my way out I noticed a customer at customer services having her voucher printed, as it was quiet they ran it through on their little computer and printed a voucher off, so I thought, ooh right ill ask as well and get my two vouchers, but, as you can only print one on one day she printed me one of and gave me a photocopied voucher for the other receipt, they had ready by the till (no barcode on it tho) for my second voucher and went home ....on my next shop I went to Tesco and big banner "taking asda vouchers" so I used the Asda voucher with the barcode no problems whatsoever
.... on my next Asda shop tried to use my other voucher only to find that along with the printed voucher you also have to have the Original till receipt with you as well ..... For Gods Sake how many receipts do I have to carry around and for how many god almighty weeks ..... think i will stick with tescos they send you nice simple vouchers with no jumping through hoops and no supercilious checkout operators taking delight in telling me I need my receipt and making me feel a fool for not reading the small print ..... grrrrrrrrr .... ahhh rant over

Like I said yesterday....
We easily can spend £80 quid in a weekend shop.
We use reloadable ASDA cards which I gwet through my work £100 spending power for £95
We then go our seperate ways with a trolley each making sure we have at least £40 in each trolley.
We each use our own email address when registering the receipt on the ASDA website plus our address and my mothers.
Often as well as the fiver off we get back the difference in our shop between ASDA and other supermarkets which amounts usually to about £1.50 so we get around £6.50 EACH off our next shop.
By the way the vouchers are valid until end DEC.
If you see a large receipt left in your trolley by a not so careful customer, register it on the website it may be worth more than yours!0 -
Can’t really believe people are complaining about this offer though the main problems seem to be:
a) I can’t read a screen which tells me I have to print off a £5 voucher to redeem it
b) Printing is a massive hassle
c) Carrying more than one receipt and voucher around with me is far too confusing.
If you play this scheme right, you can do quite well out of it. Do as many £40 shops as you can in the period, stock up on stuff you need (I have bought a lot of oil recently) and remember to buy the minimum number of different items. It is free money after all.0
