OMG how many times do i have to say im NOT winding anyone up!

I told HB advisors everything about me and this was their decision...............what can i do?!

Double and triple check all your info is right, otherwise you'll end up with a very large overpayment as with your income, you shouldn't be able to claim it.

I will be putting in a change of circumstances in November anyway as i am returning to work 33hrs a week so things will be checked and changed as needed then im sure.

I told them exactly what i was earning so they had all the right information...........................

So you're not earning at the moment then, so can't be earning 26K?

Samwich - Fluffymovie who posted above spends her working life assessing HB/LHA claims. If she is suggesting a mistake may have been made with your entitlement, then you should honestly take note of the alarm bells ringing.

If you leave it until November to check any potential overpayment, then your debt situation will turn into a huge crisis just as Christmas is looming. It would be a lot of money to pay back.

You need to get a claim in for tax credits right now. Other posters have explained how to do it. You need to forget about back payments - other posters have already explained why your chances of getting them are infinitessimal. You need to get your LHA claim checked before your run of bad luck turns into something even worse.

Best of luck with it all.

  • Not thought of different formula, we use Aptamil for my son which is great but they dont do 6 month+ milk just 1 year+, so dont know if changing brand would upset his stomach?

aptamil and cow and gate are exactly the same formula, made in the same factory by the same company in Trowbridge, Wilts but C&W is over a quid cheaper.

O/T a little but.....I had heard this previously but I don't know how true it is. I used Aptamil for my baby and it is a different look and texture to other brands, including C&G. I moved onto 6month+ formula as soon as baby was old enough (mainly due to the cost I'm ashamed to say) and I swapped and changed to whatever brand was cheapest that week and baby was more than happy as long as he had his bottle for bed!

I imagine the OP was quoted the figures based on her income while on maternity leave so I doubt entitlement will be there once she is back at work.
  • Aptamil is, so I hear, produced using a different method to cow and gate.

I disagree, it is irrational to allow backdating for one benefit, but not for another.

Don't forget that public sector organisations have a duty to promote disability-related equality.

Wednesbury irrationality means that no reasonable decision maker could have made the decision to distinguish between the two types of benefit.

Doesn't seem a flyer to me.

What is your actual weekly income? You can't be getting 26k

    What is your maternity pay?

Bit nosey I know but I am also an assessor and like fluffymovie said there is no way you could qualify with 26k p/a
