More shops are moving towards the just ask everyone policy as in my area we have test purchases going on and if you are caught out three times you loose your licence.Nice to save.0 -

I got ID'd for petrol last night at a coop garage?!?!?!
surly having a car is ID enought... what if i didn't have my ID with me...
they wouldn't be able to take my money, but couldn't hold my car!!! so technically i could drive off... there's no way i'm standing syphoning out the petrol... 1st thats ridiculous and 2nd i wouldn't know exactly how much to take out!!!!!
what is the world coming to?!??!
you can buy petrol at 16!!
and if your younger and your parents filled it up your alowed to pay for it!!
i really think we're getting a bit silly now!!!

u can get a prov liscence at 16 yrs old... and take ur theory at 16... and start lessons at 16... if u have your theory and prov liscence u can also drive with your parents or someone who's been driving for over 3 yrs... but u have to be insured on the car...
this is what my instructor told me, and i started at 16 with my parents in the car... x0 -

can't remember about my provisional licence but my full driving licence has my date of birth on it so the age at which I /could/ get it wouldn't be relevant.0 -

Not sure how that would help as they didn't have ID on them. Just because your driving licence has a date of birth on it mean nothing if you haven't got it with you.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
I do mystery shopping for several supermarket chains regarding Think 25 (not 21 anymore) purchases. I have done close to 100 assignments, and out of these, I have been ID'd about 5-6 times. The supermakets are really not happy about it, but it seems that I just don't get ID'd..... ever. Annoying thing is now that certain shops always ID me for the sake of it (ie. my own personal cigarettes or alcohol) just incase i'm doing a shop!!!0

The law states that any road user who is not in receipt of DLA at the higher rate must be 17 so anyone who is 16 but not disabled is driving illegally.. No wonder my insurance is so ******* high if idiots are driving around at 16!! You have to be 17 to take the theory however you can drive a moped under 125cc with L plates once Compulsory Basic Training has been completed.Debt as of 02/02/2012
