  • evening everyone.

flying was totally wiped out today by the wonderful men replacing the gas mains on the next street cutting straight through the mains power cable and knocking out the electricity! no leccy meant no hoovering, no ironing, no hot water to clean anything, washing machine stopped half way through washing my bedding and no heating! it was 8 degrees today! and even though i have GCH no leccy meant to firing boiler!

so off i decamped to my parents with kids in tow, the batter for my toad in the hole (which again didnt rise or cook through properly!! toad you are my nemesis! ive made you 4 times now from scratch and you have never worked. i WILL cook you and you WILL rise next time!!) and my bread which was ready to go in the oven. i nipped back 2 hours later and i had lights!! so i stuck the heating on again so the kids werent coming back to a freezing bedroom but the timer had reset itself again after i left so out came the hot water bottles to take the chill off their beds while i shouted at the timer for not cooperating!!

was out all morning so had the afternoon earmarked for flying but oh well tomorrow i need to be super flyer and finish off the house.

Happy Birthday Pen Pen - hope you're well!

I have been ever so busy. The vallikids are already finished for half term - today has been Target Setting day so i have been to school with DS, The GF and DD. DD's appointment was first; byt the tiome I got to DS's he had been and gone. *wishes could insert roll eyes smiley quickly* but I waited to chat with tutor anyway *grins as has thwarted DS's evil plan* and they're off tomorrow (INSET). They will have had ALL their INSET days before xmas so that's sorted.
Anyway, during a chat with my colleague I worked out that going to Meadowhall (also known hereabouts as Meadowhell and I'm sure you can work out why) today rather than next week might be a good idea - and it was. VERY few school age kids about, just 'leisure' shoppers. So that's done.
Am currently embroiled in a nasty row with sainsbury's who seem NOT to be able to (a) produce a correctly-calculated VAT receipt or (b) accept my accurate calculations and use them to produce said receipt and I refuse to return to the store again - so we'll see.
Got The Takeaway Secret for £1.99 in The Works - so xmas shoppers take note and get in sharpish!
Have also been acting as Excel consulant to colleagues - and collecting evidence then I don't have to to pay more Council tax.

Booked dentist for DS. Have a long list of jobs but I have lost it!

    Morning

Sorry PenPen for missing your birthday, I hope you had a good day.

Pigpen~ good news on ds1 getting a job.

    So far today I have
Stripped the bed and re made it
Gathered all washing up, and dumped in front of machine
1st load is in and on.
Emptied DW and put it all away
Put away last nights draining saucepans etc
    Swept the floor
    Bleached the toilets
Gone through about 1/2 box of tissues for my cold
Put various recycling bits out in the various bins
Emptied the paper shredder, we use to be able to tip in straight in to the recycling bucket, but with the new bin system it has to go into an large envelope (I will have to keep those as they come in now) and then into the bin, what a blarver!

    Have a good day
