Hi hun, thanks ... it's nice to come on here and have an understanding virtual shoulder

Not too bad today although me and the "manager" had a barney today which resulted in me stating "if you are the manager then manage!". Proper felt like I was the office junior today. Came home to bedlam so wasn't really very impressed. My problem is that I need this job in order to be able to pay the debts and keep our heads above water. With OH no longer havin a job I did hope that he would start doing a bit more in the house but was pleasantly surprised when he got his mate's van yesterday and took a load of rubbish out of the back yard and took it down to the tip. He took the kids to school this morning without problem and had promised to fix the fencing that was blown over by hurricane bawbag but I will let him off with not doing that today as its been sub-zero all day brrrrr
Keeping my chin up ... considering offering to destroy folks confidential docs ... will have to shell out for a properly decent shredder as mine is pants and would break pretty easily so first port of call is facebook! Have cleared out DD2's wardrobe and found a full washing basket of clothing that she has outgrown! So gonna sell it on the local facebook group ... no fees and no delivery charges cos the folk have to come to you to collect the items. I'm going to sell OH's mess dress on there as we paid over £800 for it brand new and when I tried to sell it on ebay some chump offered £50 for it. So fingers crossed I'll get between £400 and £500 which would get me a half decent shredder. And the good thing is that I can recycle the shredded paper in my compost bin so a win win if I can get some business out of a few ads in the local area. But first thing is first and I need to get these things sold!
Apart from that I am trying to keep my chin up and keep soldiering on ... tis a little hard sometimes but I do try me bestest!!!
Tis onwards and upwards! Hope you are doing better yourself huni xxxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Sorry I've not been round to post lately Bonsi, far too many short notice overtime hours to do which are hopefully all now behind me.
Glad OH has been helpful lately, fingers crossed he won't be out of work too long.
If theres demand for people to come and shred confidential docs in your area then I say go for it, but with that much outlay on kit you need to be sure it'll make you money - I know there are plenty of companies which offer that service in this area but then I'm not sure about anyone offering that kind of thing to people rather than businesses. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

hey, hows things diddling? Its tough in January to be motivated.Trying to shift that debt!0
-
Hey huni:T, diddling along not too bad. Wrote a bit of a carpy letter to the army demanding to know when i was to get my paperwork as they are well past their 20 working day deadline, wrote to the local council about their proposed rent increase this year, not happy as my house is 2 bed with a separate dining room on the ground floor that we have to use as a 3rd bedroom, but the ruddy council charge me for a 3 bedroom house and we've been waiting months for repairs, and wrote to tax cretins demanding the balance that they never paid me ... £300!
On the plus side I can remove £50 from my balance as OH paid the housing benefit debt off! well chuffed with that!:j
So this weekend will be writing to lloyds and intelligent (?) finance asking for full details of starting balances and all payments made so I can calculate the default dates myself and get notes put on my credit file to show the correct information. I also think that IF are sneakily charging interest so have to write to my DCA's to get full details from them of starting balances and all payments. Will have to see what excuses they come up with!:rotfl:
I think by the end of it I will be well and truly !!!!-eyed! Although my dad did say there was a letter at his house from the army for me so I will have to wait till Friday to see it!
Apart from that I'm just working and hoping for a miracle! If I get the £300 from tax cretins then that will pay for DD2's new bed that she needs. The last of the windfall went on 4 new internal doors at the weekend. I opened my bedroom door and the handle came off in my hand:rotfl:Wasn't too impressed at the time. But went to B&Q and got 2 bedroom doors buy one get one half price. Didn't have the offer in store but as it was on the website, I got the price I wanted:jBut the other 2 doors are a different size and they were more expensive but I managed to get 2 of those. So 3 bedroom doors and a kitchen door. Problem is the living room, downstairs loo and bathroom doors are all different sizes so will have to order them to make sure that all the doors look the same now!
OH has put the two bedroom doors on upstairs and they look quite good, and they open the opposite way to before, making the rooms seem larger! Only problem is that the door frames need filled in and need to be painted now! But I did get some gloss paint so that will be his next job.
At the mo he is trying to get me to get my boss to train me up to do his job ... aye like that will happen!!!!!
Am quickly off to bed with my kindle and have a wee read:jHave a great week, hope you are doing better xxxx:beer:LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Glad all is moving along. xx Glad to hear about the doors.
It might be cheaper to buy your house than rent it. x I know it is for meTrying to shift that debt!0 -
It would be but unfortunately until the debts are paid off or written off we can't get a mortgage! I've been to my bank but I think I might just shop around and see if there is anywhere that can offer me a mortgage that would include a sum to pay off all the debts at the same time. At least if we bought the house, we could get the cavity wall insulation done properly and get proper double glazing but will have to wait and see atm x

Well have had an acknowledgement to the letter to the tax cretins, a response from army stating that they have now called for my personal file from their archives. And an acknowledgement from the council for the snotty letter i sent them regarding my rent. The rent is going up again this year (i'm on a pay freeze). My beef is that they are charging more in rent but we get pants service regarding repairs and maintenance. I also complained about the fact that i live in a 2 bedroom end terrace with a dining room. But i get charged rent for a 3 bedroom house. Regardless that i have to use the dining room as a bedroom (kids need own rooms for various reasons) I should not be paying for a 3 bed house as its only a 2 bed house.
Funny within days of the letter to the council, i got a call from the maintenance manager who wants to come out and discuss the outstanding repairs! Amazing, I can phone and phone and nowt gets done, but the minute a letter gets sent, they phone me to discuss my needs!
Anyhoo, am off to tackle my room of doom .. bed covered in clean laundry that needs put away before i can get any sleep!
See you all soon xLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

its a good incentive to get it all put away, if you need to before you can sleep.
Hope things are continuing in an upward trend.Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Hey huni, hope all is well with you. Have been on a complete roundabout the last few weeks. FOH/WOS is standing for council so all we hear is that 24/7. I see his bloody face every day, I don't need to see leaflets with his mugshot on it all over the house!!!!
Army sent paperwork but cos I served less than 2 years have refused me pension (!!!!ers) but am going to complain as the guy that phoned refused to give me an answer in writing.
On the plus side, I got a lovely letter from the council giving me £410 for decorating stuff. Twas a disturbance allowance for getting my heating replaced (2 years ago!). The best part is, no radiators were moved and my kitchen was being replaced at the same time so I wasn't bothered at all! The only room that was touched was the kitchen and the cupboard under the stairs so no touch ups were required. We have only decorated kitchen and downstairs loo (after 3 years in the blooming house lol) so this was a complete surprise.
It was a b&q gift card thing, so we have spent some of it and have about £100 left.
So wallpaper for part of each girl's room bought plus paint for the rest of the walls, gloss for all doors, red gloss for DD1's fitted wardrobe doors. I splurged on some Laurence Llewellyn Bowen wallpaper for my room, FOH never got a look in! Now I just need to see if I can spend the rest but there's no real rush.
The other 2 doors that I bought still havent gotten fitted yet so am not confident that they ever will.
But I have paint, wallpaper and all the gadgets to decorate the whole house now. So all I need to do is have a massive clearout, make some money to pay for new beds for the kids first and new flooring for each room (want laminate in the bedrooms, much easier to keep nice than carpet with my two lol).
As for debt busting, I'm afraid that it has taken a back seat the last few weeks. Must get back into swing of things, must get back into swing of things.
Although have managed some bargain clothes for DD1 courtesy of facebook lol, good bargains (got a big huge bag full on sunday for a tenner!) and a lot of it she will have to grow into ... just need to find some way of storing it all lol
Hope you are all well, will pop by this week to your thread and have a nosey lol xxxxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

So glad to see you back Bonsi, sounds like you've been busy!
Sorry the Army stuff didn't come through for you, I can see us having similar fights with them when the pet gets home from this tour as hes talking about signing off - but given his medical problems he's been trying to get copies of all his paperwork for months, I seem to be getting envelopes once a week or so with odd bits of the paper work, god knows why it couldnt all be sent at once unless with typical military efficiency they've misfiled it all and are sending it when they find it.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
