    Morning :D

No change on the money front, although I've paid another £25 to my loan thanks to a combination of Quidco cashback and the Reward payments from Halifax.

I'm aiming for 10 NSDs in December (eek!) but managed to snare my first one yesterday, so quite pleased with that. I think I should get another one today, so fingers crossed ;) I don't have anything to buy from the shops and although I'm heading to Aberdeen tonight I am going to take a bottle of water with me for the train rather than spending money on coffee etc. Tomorrow won't be a NSD though :D

Hope everyone has nice things planned for the weekend!

Ooh, bet it's cold in Aberdeen tonight - better pack your thermals!!! I have a weekend of mystery shopping, washing and general housework to catch up on! Bought a load of spices recently so I may cook a batch of chickpea tagine (with a made up recipe ). Oh, I tried your fried onion, tinned tomato and sausage dish last week FF and it was bloomin lovely! I added a bit of garlic too and it was delish!

Hope you have a lovely weekend in Aberdeen :)

    Money

    PAD/Spends - £45
    Entertainment - £13.62
    Groceries - £81.70

A good time was had by all of the Family Fresian in the Grim and Frozen North. It's chilly up there and by goodness it's chilly here tonight. We've had the heating on for ages tonight and it's only just taken the chill off the air.

I've now got a couple of new jumpers courtesy of Mama Fresian and managed to find an excellent craft shop in Aberdeen too :D No NSDs to report this weekend ;) I was going to go to Aldi tonight when I got off the train but was exhausted, so will try and go tomorrow and buy fruit and all the other cheap things they have to offer.

Hope everyone else has had a good weekend :)

Glad you liked it :D If you're too skint for sausages, have it with chickpeas instead and chuck in some frozen peas/sweetcorn depending on what you have in the cupboard. Yummy indeed!

    Morning all :)

It is absolutely freezing here this morning, so just a quick post before I have some breakfast then go and attempt to defrost the car. I've started chucking some pound coins in a jar in case snow hits and I have to start getting the bus to work :(

The plan for today is to have a NSD - I put £15 in my purse last night and as long as I spend less than that in Aldi then my NSD will remain in tact.

    Keep warm everyone :snow_grin

It's even colder this morning :(

I managed to do my Aldi shop yesterday for well under my £15 budget, so was very pleased with that. Hopefully today will be another NSD. I'm trying to be as thrifty as I can at the moment while we get used to having only one income and no lodger. I love the peace but sometimes the extra money would be nice ;)

Last night I had to cave and put the heating on a couple of times. Thankfully we've been really [strike]tight[/strike] careful with it this year, so should have a good credit balance built up which we can draw on when it's cold. We were £183 in credit in September, so hopefully we can use that excess throughout the year. We only pay £60 per month at the moment for gas & electric, so that's a surplus of three months payments. I'm still wearing loads of jumpers before I turn it on though :D

I have 7 working days to get through until I'm on holiday till the new year :j

I have £70.92 left in my groceries account, and get paid a week on Friday. The freezer is jammed full of meat (nom!) and we're only going to need £30-40 worth of food until next Friday - mainly fresh fruit and veg, bread and milk. Some days I think a cow in the back garden would be cheaper given the volume of tea Mr Fresian drinks!!

Anything that I have leftover on Friday isn't going to get PADded as usual, but will be left in the groceries account and I'm going to stockpile for December/January as there are 35 days between Decembers payday and January

Any suggestions of good stockpiling things would be appreciated :D
  • After eights, roses and quality street, currently on offer and great for medicinal purposes when snuggled in blankets to keep warm over the winter.

Plus, anything medicinal is point free :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

I met someone the other week who has a Fred and the numberplate is F*** MOO :D
One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

    I am jealous :( I would love a numberplate that said FR35 1AN :D 35 plates won't be around for a while yet though!

I managed to snag another NSD today which has taken me up to four for the month already :D I'm trying to get as many as possible in before the January sales get their hooks into me!

I posted some of my Christmas cards today - and used the last of my stamps to send cards to the people in my MSE family that I have addresses for. I now need to buy stamps at some point this week so I can send cards to my real family :rotfl:

Tomorrow is Fat Club, which I'm not sure is going to go really well this week. I've not been as good as usual and am feeling a little sluggish. Only the scales will tell I suppose ;) Dinner tonight was chicken cooked in chilli oil then a sauce made with veggies and passata, served with brown pasta and babycorn. Was delicious indeed and very healthy. Sadly the Curly Wurly and caramels I've scoffed tonight were not :D

    Money

    PAD/Spends - £45
    Entertainment - £13.62
    Groceries - £70.92
    ISA Savings - £1795.97
    Crafty Savings - £178.13
    Christmas savings - £31.08

I also have a whopping £3 in my purse ;)

I have done some adding up and have paid £489.88 in additional payments directly to my loan since October :D That's nearly 10% of the original balance and as I haven't included my normal monthly payment, I have definitely repaid 10% already :j I won't be able to make huge payments every month, but it's good knowing that online banking lets me pay directly into the account now and that I have the ISA money to fall back on if needed.

I have 6 working days until I am on holiday, and 9 real days until payday comes. Typically that will be the day after my birthday, so it will have to be a very MSE day :rotfl:
