I think that would be too much of a challenge :rotfl:

I went through the same op as your sis back in April. She will notice a difference when she takes the eye patch off tomorrow.

That's good to know Pat. When I saw my sister at tea time, her pain-killers were wearing off and it HURT, plus her eye was watering badly behind the patch, but she was told to expect this. She has to go back at 9 am tomorrow, as her surgeon likes to check his patients the next day after operating

    Hello,

Sorry to do this but I am getting desperate. I am doing an animal communication course and part of the course is to do 10 case studies. I think I have 4 lined up (crosses fingers) but need 6 more.

Basically I would need a photo of an animal to do initial connection. Then the owner would call me, I would go through some stuff about how it works and what happened during the initial contact. I could then help with what ever issue there is. If there is no particular issue it could be something like: how I could have better relationship, understanding etc etc with my animal. Afterwards I would send the owner a link to online form wher my efforts can then be rated.

Any volunteers? Please send me a PM. Thank you so much!! And sorry I can't have three animals from one owner, it would be cheating :(.

    I'll pm you Marru ;);)

3Dogs, your sister's surgeon sounds like a bit of a butcher tbh. My eye didn't hurt or water. My mum and dad both had theirs done and they had no pain at all.

My eye was pretty borderline for failing as it was at -10.5 (short-sighted) and slightly oval in shape. The surgeon told me straight that I was in the fine margin where the op could fail, but would be fixable.

No idea how long she has had the cataracts, but for a few weeks everything will be very much brighter as her eyes readjust to the new lens, so it would be worth buying a pair of sunglasses from poundland to carry with her. I will admit that it took about 9 weeks for me to stop squinting in bright light.

When she got taken up for the op, the nurse said 'it's your left eye isn't it?' my sister said yes, the nurse turned away to get numbing drops ready, turned back and promptly put the drops in her right eye  She said 'Ooops, it's the left one isn't it?' so then put the drops in the right eye. So my sis couldn't see out of either eye. Then, on operating table, they covered her with large sheet-thing and put a separate one over her head, and cut a hole in it over her left eye. A little while later, someone said 'Ooops, I've got to cut a hole for her mouth too haven't I?' - so that Sis could breathe properly   She came home with a great long list of things she has to do and not do. For next 2 weeks, she has to have drops 4 times a day, not get shower gel/soap in the eye, no heavy lifting i.e. no more than one light bag of shopping, self-certify for 1 week and then doctor's med cert for second week, ......

Nice to hear from you again Frit - as Beanie says, SW is having a break from the internet and is very well indeed at the moment :j :j

My sister went to see her surgeon this morning after her op yesterday. Her eye is really sore, runny and swollen but they did an eye test and she could see. I am going to visit Mam this evening on my own and Sis will probably be ok to visit her tomorrow. My brother said Mam was ok at lunch time, quite bright in fact, actively watching tv :D

I saw this on the Tesco threads and thought you would all appreciate it:

To cheer up a grey monday morning!

    1. My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30 this morning, can you believe that? 2:30am? Luckily for him I was still up playing my Bagpipes.

    2. The Grim Reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with avacuum cleaner. Talk about Dyson with death.

    3. Paddy says, "Mick, I'm thinking of buying a Labrador. "Really,"says Mick "have you seen how many of their owners go blind"

    4. I saw a poor old lady fall over today on the ice!! At least I presume she was poor - she only had £1.20 in her purse.

    5. My girlfriend thinks that I'm a stalker. Well, she's not exactly my girlfriend yet.

    6. The wife has been missing a week now. Police said to prepare for the worst. So I have been to the charity shop to get all her clothes back.

    7. A mate of mine admitted to being addicted to brake fluid. When I quizzed him on it he reckoned he could stop any time.

    8. I went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers on a grave. As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin, 3 hours later and they're still walking about with it. I thought to myself, "These guys have lost the plot!"

    9. My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were £70. "Blow this," I thought, "I can get one cheaper off the web."

    10. Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.

    11. I start a new job in Seoul next week. I thought it was a good Korea move..

    12. I was driving this morning when I saw an RAC van parked on the side of the road. The driver was sobbing uncontrollably and looked very miserable. I thought to myself, "That guy's heading for a breakdown."

    13. I just met a fat, alcoholic, transvestite. He wants to eat, drink, and be Mary.
