R.I.P Alan
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
Candle litThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -

May I just add my condolences. Even though I have never met either of you, I feel that through this forum I feel I have known the pair of you for a lifetime.
I'm so glad you were with him at the very end.Never Knowingly Understood.

Mrs 3Dogs, what a fitting tribute to Mr 3Dogs, using his avvi as yours.
Miss him and cannot imagine how much you are missing him xxxxxx0 -
I really have no words other than I'm so sorry for your loss. Alan I'm sure was a wonderful man and I only hope that if I were met with the same situation I and my OH would show half the strength of character of you both.
Raising my glass to you both tonight xxxx0 -

So very sorry to hear about the passing of Alan, my thoughts are with you and your family Susan. Take care and God Bless.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
I'm never good with words at these sad times, so I'm sending a beautiful poem for you:
All Is Well
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was,
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
All is well.

Thinking of you Susan x :A:A:A0 -
Dear :A Susan :A ,
I am so very sorry for your loss of your beloved Alan. Many times i've written you a message and then deleted it as this is all so very close to home for me and i wanted to write something positive to you. Unfortunately i have lost 2 close family members and a childhood friend since Christmas to this horrid illness, the most recent being 3 weeks ago. People tell me that time is a healer it's too soon for me to say that i agree but i will say first hand that grief will take as long or as short a time as it needs and for each of us it is a personal journey. There is no right or wrong and i too think Alan would be smiling at the fact that you popped into Tescos on the way home and even managed to pick up a whoopsie.
I hope the light from the candles, the love and devotion which you and Alan shared and all the beautiful messages of support on here can carry you through and light the days ahead.
I know it will not be easy having been so busy until now selflessly looking after Alan, but now is the time to allow your family and friends to look after you and to wrap you in their blanket of love.
My sincerest and most heartfelt condolences
:A:A:A
