GP came at 2pm and checked alan and my list of what meds he'd had and when. Raising MST to 40mg plus oramorph as needed, so told me to give him 15mg now to top up what he'd already had and then give 40 mg from tonight. Agreed about possible review at oncology but as we have an appointment with Palliative Care Doc on 4th July will raise it with him and see if he will refer back to oncologist to consider this

GP is going to ring tomorrow to check how thing went and visit if necessary. Alan said pain has eased, though still there, and has fallen back asleep easily so at least meaning that he can rest :D

Just waiting for the District Nurse calling this afternoon and then I will pop out to pick up script for more oramorph GP gave me when he was here

Good to have things happening and meds getting there in easing Alan's pain and possibility of some radiotherapy :j

Edit: District Nurse came at 2.45 just as I was about to submit. She was here over half and hour and made lots of notes. They will visit again in 2 weeks unless we need them earlier, and will order perching stool for bathroom and pillow raiser/back rest too, as well as check up on wheelchair order

    Hi hun

Good to see that things are moving and Alan's pain is being controlled better, hopefully he can get some rest now and build up his strength a bit.

It must to be better for you not seeing him in so much pain, hopefully you can get some rest as well now.

    Take care

You both are so wonderful, the way you are coping with this.

Glad Alan is getting more sleep now.

believe me, there are different ways of handling it, and the way you and Alan are is the best way :) I know others in different situations, who are definitely not handling it at all.

Alan has been in a deep sleep since this afternoon. I got something ready for tea at 8pm ready for his 3rd meds and he woke then but was very doped up and couldn't manage much of his food and every time he had a drink, I sat on the edge of my chair as I thought he was going to spill it  I had to shout to him several times when he was in the toilet as it sounded like he was falling asleep sat on the loo  but managed to get him to bed, very slowly ;) He was in a little pain so gave him some oramorph .... only his 3rd dose of the day, which was very good, and he is snoring away right now ;)

I will be waking him up in a few minutes for his last meds including 40mg MST and think he will get a really good night's sleep :j :j What he is like overnight and in the morning will show if he is on the correct morphine dose though
