Hugs love, sorry to hear Alan is having the hullicination side effect's, we use to end up at A & E quite often with OH's Dad because he re-acted the same way and the care staff that use to come and get him up in a morning and put to bed at night use to phone the ambulance and send him in because most of them had not seen that reaction before and didn't want to risk leaving him like that.
As well as the equipment is there a chance of getting someone in to help get him up for his breakfast or dinner then help put him back to bed?
And sorry I'v not been posting much, but after a lot of trile and error we've found a pain killer I'm not allergic to and I'v been sleeping a lot:o£71.93/ £180.000 -
When I was pregnant with.DS and in labour, I needed to go, but was on a drip. So the nurse gave me something to go in, I couldn't do it. I insisted on going to the toilet but when I stood up my waters broke, and I said too late!
But I understand how Alan feels.
I agree with Boult, see if you can get some help in the morning and night. It will take the strain of you.
You are still doing a wonderful job hun.
Boult, thought you were just busy. But good you can sleep now xx0 -
Hi hun and another huge (((HUG))) for you.
I'm pleased you're asking for some help, that's definitely the right thing to do, some good suggestions from boult.
Hopefully the GP will be able to sort out/adjust Alan's meds today, fingers crossed for you both.
Thinking about you both.

(((Hugs))) 3Dogs, I think of you both often!
I hope you dont mind me asking but has Mr 3Dogs been checked for a urine infection at all? My mother in law had hallucinations etc last year when she was in hospital and it turned out to be an infection, and I found out afterwards its not uncommon. Just a thought, in case its not his meds.
My mother had a stoma, she gave it a name as it was like a character all of its own lol! So I understand a lot of what you talk about.
Lots of love to you both xx0 -
My thoughts are with you as always - hugs to you both x0

Susan, second what kymie said - the only time I have ever had halcinations in my life was with a urine infection after my stoma op. I spent the night in hospital in a right state with pain and thinking I in some sort of world where the same thing kept happening over and over. I was so terrified they had to leave a nurse sitting with me all the time to stop me from screaming. I can still get that feeling now when I think about it and it was nearly 8 years ago. The doc thought I had peritonitis (sp?) and that scared me even more.
Hope Alan is feeling more himself soon.0 -
3Dogs, I've just found this thread thanks to locarr putting a link on the elite thread. I'm so sorry you and Alan are having a difficult time. I agree with others who have mentioned a urine infection. People don't realise how much pain one can cause, and that elderly or ill people can suffer particularly badly, with hallucinations as well as being unable to wee. I seem to remember that Alan had an abscess, perhaps there is a recurrence of that? Glad your gp is so good, and I hope he can sort out what the problem is. As others have said, get all the help you can, as caring for someone you love, seeing them in pain, and feeling helpless will wear you down, and you need all your resources to cope. Sending hugs, and thinking of you both. xxxxxSealed Pot Challenge No 9 516 target £250
