Sorry 3 dogs~ I did mean to ask how you both were today?

We're ok thank Beanie. Alan is doing a car boot tomorrow as now owe two weeks rent of units again (2 x £40) and he has one of his good record buyers coming to see him ;) His sciatica has improved a lot, though still getting some pain. We have both had chocolate today, and a couple of whiskeys ....... funny how you have these to make you feel better but they never do ............. it just makes you feel guilt and sad ;)

I keep seeing Bonnie out of the corner of my eye as I am on my laptop, round the top left corner of the screen ....... as she was always standing in the doorway of the sitting room, staring at me, and often yap, yap, yapping, though you never knew what she wanted. I used to let her out, feed her if it was time, check their water bowl, but she'd still stand there yapping ................ trying to tell us something :(:(

I mentioned to Steve and Andy the last time they were up here about possibly of them, us and Kit renting a cottage during the summer when Kit was on school hols coz spread between 5 it shouldn't cost too much, and they discussed it with Kit last weekend. After a bit of consultation yesterday, Steve has booked us a lovely cottage near Tavistock for a week from 14th July, so that would mean celebrating my birthday with them again :j :j :j Woopee - a lovely summer holiday to look forward to :j :j :j

I'm off to bed now as up early tomorrow. Alan is doing a car boot and the plan at the moment is that I take him down around 5.30/6 am, come back and then go back down again around 10 am, but that may well change in the morning ............. :o:o

    Goodnight everyone - God bless

boult, can I get your recipe for scones please. Am going to attempt them and see if DH likes them.

3Dogs, hope Alan was ok today, don't feel guilty about Bonnie. It is hard when you don't realise what your children are trying to tell you.

I know realise when DS used to refuse to go into his childminder's house, it was because he was unhappy there. I didn't know as he didn't speak and it never occurred to me. She never told me any different that he was unhappy there. It only occurred when he started nursery and how happy he was going there, asking if we were going at weekends, etc. And also when she told me when he first started how unhappy he was for weeks! I wish she had told me as I would have spent more time settling him in at the beginning or looked for a new childminder.

It is all hindsight and when you are a new mum, and no one to tell you about all these things, a steep learning curve. I had mum friends but they too were new first time mums. I wish we had had mentor mums that could have told us about all this.

Gosh I have rambled a bit, sorry.

:j to summer holiday, cottage sounds great.
