from memory it was xp professional
I did buy an "Ultimate bood cd" from ebay, and that allowed me to open something called Mini windows xp, which the mouse etc worked from there, I tried checking device manager and reinstalling the mouse/keyboard drivers and restarting but made no difference.
The PC shop rang and said they have fixed the keyboard issue, but not the mouse issue and want the extra money before doing so, thats why we figured perhaps was best to just let it go0 -
i spent 6 months on a part time pc building course at my local ( it ) centre the teacher was a genius,
allways have a spare set of drivers for your pc on a cd/dvd or a usb stick get them from the manufacturers
website.......
what is the make and model number of your existing pc ? have you got a windows disc ?
1 gig of ram and a 2ghz single core cpu is enough to run xp home ............0 -
just format the drive by conecting it to another pc
using the ribbon cable or sata cable then chuck the formatted drive back into the pc
and chuck your windows disc in ( get the drivers ) job done0 -

Exactly which version of XP? We need exact descriptions.
Perhaps an HDD error.
Try running a Live CD to check for RAM problems. Take the RAM out and clean the contacts with an eraser and make sure there is no dust in the slots.0 -
Ok Thanks, the pc in still in shop at moment, so will take a look when possible
I am %99 sure it was windows xp professional edition0
