Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them
Comments

I spoke to an advisor today and he told me that I have to pay in £800 for 3 months after the switch completes, if I do, the £200 will be credited the following month.
Ditto. I applied online but clarified a few things over the telephone with one of their advisors, and they informed me that the £200 would be credited in month 4.0 -
I'll keep the SO bouncing between my wife's account and mine until the cash is in the account (just to be safe).0

I applied on-line this evening and received approval (subject to a few formalities) a couple of hours later. Thanks to OP for the heads up.0

In general, people will be rather reluctant to switcht their DD.
You could still get 2 SOs in your old account, it is very simple if you have access to internet banking. Just set up SOs to you other accounts in value of 1p, this could be done within minutes.
But for to set up a DDs (if people have not got one in their old a/c) it is a quite painful process as we still need to contact the third parties, to change to DD details. Also it could go wrong and if it happens we will get fine for late payment, damage our credit score etc.

Congratulation phred;
Did you switch with 2SOs and 2DDs or just 2SOs to get approved ?
I only have two direct debits (mortgage and Council Tax) with my transferring bank, RBS.
I assume they will wait and see if I satisfy their conditions before giving me the £200.
I don't know the process they went through before sending me the above email; maybe just a credit check?
I would have expected that other applicants would have received similar notifications by now as I got the acceptance email within 3 hours of applying.0 -
I applied 10:30 this morning, had the email 'Thank you for your application' and thats it.
I assume they will write ......0 -
I signed up for the account, but noticed at the end they ask for sort code and account number of your old bank. Does this have to be the same bank that you later request the switch for once the account is opened? (I assume so, just checking)
Just hoping the DDs are setup by then, so I can switch'em0 -
It's good because it makes people like me think seriously about switching. I've been with Barclays over 20 years and I know the service/products are poor but just can't be bothered to change. As a household we have at least 12 accounts there so perhaps we should share the love a bit.Can I help?0

Applied around 17:30 yesterday, received acknowledgment email straightaway, Credit Expert shows they searched my Experian credit report yesterday too, no doubt automatically. Now waiting on an acceptance email.0
