Quick question - maintained balance on CO OP account
Can your £800 be transferred in to your CO OP account and then back out again with in minutes/hours via faster payments system each month to still receive your £200 bonus.

I rang co-op a week or so ago to ask this, and was told that you can transfer your money out as soon as it goes in. It's just based on what hits the account.

Ive set it to send 1k FP from Santander to co-op on the last working day of the month. Then send 1K FP co-op to Santander on the first working day.
This meets co-op criteria (£800) for £200 and Santander's (1k) to get 5% interest on the Preferred Current Account.

me and my OH both switched, along with my sister.

    me from halifax.
    OH from Lloyds.
    sis from santander.

all 3 accounts had 2 SO set up for payout on the 25th.

me and OH all fine and SO from "old" account auto cancelled.

sisters account, has not sorted online access yet and seeing that her 2 SO were still showing on her Santander account i assumed it hadnt switched. today SO from both her new co op and old santander account were paid so the switch has worked but old SO were not cancelled.

    overall very happy x 3 :)

I'm beginning to wish I hadn't opened the account. Problem is entirely my fault though as I set up a transfer from the Co-op to my Lloyds account and got one digit wrong on the account number. Eyesight must be worse than I thought it was:o

Now £600 is in transit by bacs to a wrong account and the co-op and Lloyds are both telling me that the other bank is the one to sort this out

First transfer should always be for some nominal amount (I never send more than £1), and the payee details saved.

Then verify it's arrived before sending a payment in anger, using the previously saved payee details.

Won't resolve this issue, but will stand you in good stead for the future.

Hope you get the money back!

Crazy thing is, I have only just noticed that I tried to transfer £10 first the day before, goodness knows why I didn't check that had transferred correctly - I must have been distracted.

I'm going to go down to the branch tomorrow and see what they can do for me. That's £610 now that has gone astray.

My switch has been a nightmare.

The DD's STILL are not on my account, CO-OP have told me last wek they were going to be entered manually into the system - 10 days later, no DDs set up. Only got card reader last week.

Really unhappy - 4 phones calls to them, they make sympathetic noises about the switching, then Zip...silence.

Maybe you're regarded as interesting - not necessarily a bad credit record but perhaps something about your profile makes it hard to risk assess you? More insights, Co-op workers?

It seems for certain new customers they issue cards only after an explicit request and sometimes also (someone mentioned earlier in thread) with short validity. You might want to call up.
