Co-Op bank - £200 if you switch to them

As a matter of interest, did anybody sign up to one of the fee charging accounts and if so what persuaded you to go for it?
One of 'em did cross my mind, but I thought "Mmm, I can always upgrade later, if I want to"...0 -

I decided to sign up for the Privilege Premier a/c (£13pm) as I was moving from Natwest's Advantage Gold a/c (12.95pm).
I decided that I was going to benefit more from this a/c than the Natwest one. The only thing I used my Natwest a/c for was insurance for my iPhone (which I had used to claim and was very good as they ended up paying £450 to me) and used the travel insurance once.
I had thought about the PP a/c before but I finally gave in for this deal. I will use the Breakdown Cover as it is much better than Natwest's, with the Phone Insurance I can have 4 phones covered (inc iPhones and family members phones) whereas Natwest only allowed mine, I still get Travel Insurance and also I have Gadget Cover which will allow me to insure various gadgets (tablets/laptops/consoles/sat nav etc) up to a value of £1200 in total for accidental damage, loss and theft etc which Natwest didn't provide.
They have also opened a savings a/c (PP Savings a/c) automatically which I will pay my savings into from Natwest and gives me a fee free and interest free £300 overdraft.
I was a bit worried about switching to begin with as I have NEVER had a problem with Natwest and they I do like the fact they have an iPhone/iPad app which is very handy to have when out and about but I decided to take a chance.0 -

Online Banking. Now firstly, there appears to be no limit to how many attempts you make to log in, secondly, it's just stopped excepting my answers, which are 100% correct. At first it worked fine, then re-attempting it's not even accepting the answers it was before. Has it actually locked me out with informing me? It's really doing my nutt and I swear it's not me mistyping. I'm more inclined to think the answers I gave over the phone were noted incorrectly (for some) atleast I was until trying exactly the same ones that worked earlier... guess i'll have to call.
Had the same problem and found out that the spellings were recorded wrongly over the phone. Guess it will the same in your case. I then went through all the security passwords letter by letter to make sure all spellings are correct. Everything now works fine!0 -

Faster Payments? Unreliable. Money went in OK to my account and the wife's.
Her payment out for £600 went Faster Payments - no problem. Mine, however (same amount and to same joint bank account) went BACS and took 3 days. They couldn't explain why.
Not impressed with them so far. First Direct is absolutely reliable. Co-operative Bank seems anything but.0 -
Ivd had the internet banking set up, the debit card, pin and cheque book has arrived but no confirmation of the switch as yet. I take it we dont move the £800 in til we receive confirmation the switch has completed?0

According to customer services you have 3 attempts, after which your PIN number is 'erased' meaning you can't sign on again without contacting customer services and doing a full security check.
Why we can't just sign on with the card reader is beyond me. Sure, don't force it, but at least allow it!0 -
Does anyone know what will happen to these?
I'm not closing my old bank account and would prefer my linked accounts to remain where they are.
I am hoping that someone can give me some advice on this.0 -
I decided to sign up for the Privilege Premier a/c (£13pm) as I was moving from Natwest's Advantage Gold a/c (12.95pm).
I tried doing my sums on it (phone/gadget, travel cover {I hardly ever have a holiday, or even business} and how much I could reduce my house insurance premium by to avoid paying for duplicate cover, however when I started trying to factor in the different excesses, my brain caved in...
The free 300 OD looked interesting but it's just another 'tempting' debt, that I'd rather not have. So it all became a bit E=MC2 in the end and I left it.
Cheers for that though, it's interesting to hear how people think on the paid accounts.0 -

Is your previous /donor account now devoid of any DDs and SOs you might have had? I'd be intrigued if anybody was seeing them duplicated/retained.
In effect there should be nothing whatsoever remaining on the other (transferred from) account.0
