Don't think Tesco do value peppers any more, or frozen ones either. Very annoying - so much so that every now and again I stop at the Sainsbury's I go past most days to stock up, even though I do my normal shopping online from Tesco!

I love them and I put them with everything (especially the yellow ones).
but they are really expensive! £1.23 for a pack of 3 from Tesco or roughly 70p odd for a single pepper, and it doesn't get you very far.

Does anyone know where I can buy peppers cheap? Does anyone know how much a green grocer on a market sells them for?

Do you have a local market where they sell big bowls of veg for £1?

Lidls are usually cheap for those, our markets/green grocers are expensive.

Have you tried growing some? I know you will have to wait ages but it will work out cheaper. I'm thinking of growing some myself - they are normally 69p, but our local supermarket has HUGE ones at the moment for 73p.

Local market or Netto are much cheaper than the supermarkets for that sort of veg. But I grew my own reasonably successfully last year in pots in a north facing yard with very little effort.

They do seem dear at Tesco, shame they don;t do value bags.

I get the value ones from Morrisons. Got some today and they were £1.49 for about 5/6. Hth, I know that markets are probably cheaper. Asda do the value ones, £1.48 for 700g. I just had a quick look - looks a huge bag on piccie! Probably same as Morrisons though.

It varies. Most markets seem to have greengrocer stalls that do a bowl of one type of item for £1, the contents can be a couple of bunches of bananas, a few leeks, a pile of onions or apples or carrots, several avocados, a couple of heads of fennel... It varies depending on the market (some I think have mixed bowls as well as single-item bowls) but these bowls almost always work out cheaper than buying by each or by weight.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Lidl had 70% off fruit and veg last week (Sunday) and peppers were v. cheap there. Worth checking with your local Lidl first.
    That's Numberwang!
