I used to work in an industry where we had to 5 year vet people. To be fair - you shouldn't have lied. It's simple, if you don't prove where you were they won't be able to take you on anyway.2022 Target - Reduce new mortgage balance after house move - Part 1 (Ported) Starting balance £39,982.12 currently £37,242.19 Part 2 Starting Balance £101,997.88 currently £96,197.38 (as at 19/04/2022)0

Perhaps those who lie on their CVs like to think that 'everyone' does it, because it makes them feel better. But it really isn't the case. Honesty is the best policy, otherwise you might find yourself caught out, and sacked, or in a job that's beyond your skills.0

When the firm I had worked-for for 16-odd years closed-down and moved abroad, they got in people from avrious organisations to help prepare us for what was to come. The experts brought-in to help with the job-hunting side of things told us that the best way to cover a series of jobs that for one reason or another, only lasted for a short period, was to class them as either short-term agency contracts or just put-down that you were self-employed.
I will admit that I had a job that lasted 3 weeks that will never appear on my cv, only because they never under any circumstances give referances or confirmation of employment details to anyone except Govt. departments.Never Knowingly Understood.

My thoughts exactly. If the op did get the job and then the sack, someone else better suited to the role may have missed out. I would hate to think I had missed out of a job because someone lied on their cv. Even totally leaving something out is a lie of omission. Whatever happened to people just being honest and unashamed of their pasts.0 -
I cant believe that people think that lying on C.V s and application forms isnt widespread. We will never know because obviously we cant ask the whole country can we but its even been in the papers about the issue.
I couldnt care less whether someone lied or not and I missed out because I would assume that everyone was bang at it so its upto me to be best at interview and convince the employer.
People lie because it gains then advantage and they want to get ahead.
I dont think everyone does it to make myself feel better, because I dont care.
Unless your in a very highly vetted job, people will and do all the time get away with it.0 -

You can believe what you like; but many people never lie on their CVs. That way, you never get caught out.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Again....
If the OP was working in the period claimed to be travelling
and
If the OP was not working cash in hand...
Tax and insurance records will show that the OP was in fact working0 -

You can say it as many times as you want, but an employer doesn't see this if a p46 is completed. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0
