they do work as i am on o2 and had to send my k800i (3g) back as there was a fault so i had to revert back to using my k750i (2g) and the sim worked fine. you will just not have the ability to use 3g features thats all
    Cool thanks for the info.

not too worried about the 3G features as i don't know anyone who actually uses them!

  • Just thought i would add...

Do NOT use a 3G sim from 3 (as in the network 3) in a 2G handset.
It wont work in 95% of 2G handsets anyway, but in the small minority that it does - you are in breach of your t&c's and 3 dont like this at all and they will disconnect you from their network (you will get a warning first though)
  • Please note: That policy above changed on Jan 8th. Due to Orange being the new network provider, 3 must have arranged a new policy with them that allows the use of 3 USIMs in a non-3G phone.

Although its not guaranteed to work - if it does then these days you are not disconnected.

3 told me that applies to new payg SIMs from this month, but probably not older ones. I didn't ask about contract ones

For the record I use mine (3 network) :j

I find my allowance of 50 mins of video calls a month difficult to use as I only know 1 person on a 3g mobile to converse with although I did give him a brief piece of live coverage of the footy match I was at
