Hi Red what email address did you use with them please? I used redspottedhanky @ atosorigin.com to ask why I've not had my £5.00 yet but had no reply. Maybe I'll try their freephone number.0 -
Mine arrived too! Hurrah!0

Hmm well I've had the brush-off from Red Spotted Hanky. Even though I forwarded the link off the MSE newsletter, and even though I did get an email to confirm I'd registered ok, they didn't give me my £5.00 The offer was still working a good few hours after I'd got my confirmation email. They are hiding behind their terms and condidtions which state: "The Promoter accepts no responsibility for system errors or other issues that may result in disruption to registration or loyalty point redemption." Well that may well be but they doubtless will end up collecting personal information off a number of people who never get any reward from it.
So I'lll be cancelling my account and I hope they don't spam me relentlessly. East Coast use exactly the same booking engine plus, as they also run trains, they give you 10% off East Coast tickets. Other companies give you Quidco on train tickets. I can't see the point of Red Spotted Hanky therefore.0 -

May not suit everyone though.0 -
I've just noticed I also haven't had my e-voucher. I've sent them an email. I joined about 1557 on 12/10 which I assume should be ok.0

Red Spot much much dearer
Using Tesco vouchers & comparing East Coast web site & Red Spot
EC YRM- YRK £4.30 RSH £7.50 2nd class
EC YRK - KGX £32.45 RSH 35.65 1st class
in other words it seems a flat charge of £3.20 extra
£3.20 extra bad on a £33 fare (10%) but on a £4 fare (75%) exhorbitant.
Any one else with this prob or any comments?0 -

I can see Advance Singles from Yarm to York on 6 December for £4.30 on East Coast website. Same fare for the same ticket type in the other direction on 7 Dec.
Oh, you didn't mention that you need a railcard to get that fare, did you?
On that same date, RedSpottedHanky are offering exactly the same prices on the same trains.
I have been unable to find the £7.50 fare on either EC or RSH websites.
If you can give exact dates and times, perhaps the discrepancy can be investigated further.
Your second example is easier to explain.
East Coast offer a 10% discount off their own Advance Singles when booked online.
That is the difference between the two York to London fares you mention.
Don't forget that when using Tesco Clubcard deals you are getting three times the face value of the clubcard points.0 -
Thanks. I'm "Tim, nice but dim";-) & couldn't find my initial post so I asked the question again on the Red Spot page when I discovered that page. Should've said that I'd looked on the Transpennine site for the YRM - YRK ticket . However I now see £4.30 YRM YRK rail card 25 Nov 2011 on Red Spot. Looks to be "sorted" & I'll flash my cash at Red Spot !0
