And there are more dangerous things to be doing like lighting a cigarette or brushing your hair whilst driving, but that still doesn't condone it.
I'm sick of having near misses becuase someones phone call is more important than concentrating on their driving. If it's that important, pull over!
you must really hate me cos i'm a young bloke with a german hot hatch0 -
I wish there were a universal way to signal "get off yer bloomin phone" to another road user. I get really annoyed, too, but wouldn't blame just one portion of the nation.
I gotta admit tho, I'm a smug self-righteous non-speeder. I had a couple of accidents when I first started driving, through bad luck and bad judgement, and I have certainly learned my lesson. But I cannot understand why people complain about speed cameras. It is SO easy to check one's speed as one is travelling. My OH got a speeding ticket early this year, and it has been quietly amusing to observe his adherance to speed limits now.
Oops, total hijack, sorry.
Driving and talking - not easy anyway, but handsfree is the only safe way.0 -

I totally agree with you, it really angers me to see people with a phone in one hand while steering with the other. They are selfishly putting other people's lives at risk all for the sake of saving a few minutes. I wish there was a more high profile campaign against it, and more people getting caught and banned/fined - that would stop people. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -

Thanks
There is a law against it but as there are hardly any police about these days you would have to be unlucky to get caught. In my experience the more expensive the car the less chance that the person driving it has bothered to spend a bit more and get a hands free kit.0 -
Maybe it's linked to that optional extra that many prestige cars have - no indicators.0

tell you what is worse that people holding a phone while driving, people on hands free waving their hands about as though the person they're talking to can see them0
