On the 10th october I sent an e-mail to the customer - this e-mail address is no longer in in use.Your email has not been forwarded and will not be actioned.
talk talk customers should go to http
help.talktalk.co.uk/app/home to find a full range of help articles etc etc
I think that this is indicative of the unhelpfulness I can expect in trying to resolve the dispute with them.

As far back as 2006 I had the same issue with TalkTalk that others here are describing. I wanted to leave them and they insisted I was still in a contract and couldn't terminate it without paying them lots of money. It ended with me refusing to, stopping their payments and refusing to pay anything without evidence being presented. There were debt colelction letters and court threats, but of course you can't win a case in court without proof and so it all just went away. No formal default was ever registered on my credit file I noticed. (Could this be because the authorities that regulate that kind of thing would have punished TalkTalk for lying and that TalkTalk knew this all along? Surely not! I must simply be both very lucky not to have got a formal default and a terrible cynic for suspecting them.)0

I resigned up with talktalk (was previously with tiscali) when i moved into this house just over 12 months ago. My package was for all landline calls in the evenings and weekends plus unlimited broadband. About 4 months later they send me a letter saying my package had changed - I would still have to pay the same amount only now that money only covered my internet and no calls. I phoned them to ask about this and they told me that they were in their rights to change this and that my policy was only for internet.
Now they are sending me junk mail offering a new package with limited internet and free calls (and renewing my 18 month contract!)
My contract has a little less than 6 months to go and when it's up I will never go back to talktalk and would strongly recommend anyone thinkingly about using their services to reconsider.0 -
Thanks folks for your advice. As I have now completed my changeover to Sky I am no longer eligible to post my comments on the talktalk forum - you have to have an active account to do so. I will therefore pursue the matter direct and keep posting any progress (or not!) on this web.
Wish me luck

Hi Skysthelimit,
It is the case you require an active TalkTalk Account to post on the Members Forum.
However if you still have a compaint you may wish to check the Complaints section of the Code of Practice on the TalKTalk Website.
This details the relevant process for complaint escalation

I decided a while ago that going with any company other than BT was a waste of time, they always try to tie you up in contractual knots, and at the merest hint of a fault they ask you to contact BT for help, what a load of nonsense, reminds you that you're talking to monkeys and there's really an organ grinder.
Almost every one of the ISPs or telephone companies I've ever used, have been bought out by a larger one, and the terms and conditions have suffered as a result, so I'm with BT, and will remain with BT, funnily enough I don't have a home hub, as I told them I didn't want one as I have a NetGear SRX5308 Quad WAN Firewall running a Draytek Vigor 110 ADSL 2+ Modem, and WiFi via a couple of NetGear WAG102 APs. There's also limited wired ethernet connected to the SRX5308, for a network printer, and a switch connected to one half of a ethernet to fibre optic media converter, I've yet to buy the ruggedised fibre optic cabling to the garden shed, maybe I'll find a bargain, and connect the shed one day. There's a couple of Buffalo AirStation Ethernet Converters here too, so that the FreeSat and Blu-Ray Players can access the web for iPlayer, etc.
We get BT Infinity in March next year, which is supposed to be near 40Mbit down/10Mbit up, you'll wait a while for that on TalkTalk, and all the other crappy resellers.0 -

As per my earlier post - email Talk Talk's CEO Dido Harding dido.harding@talktalkgroup.com and explain the problems you have had - she will pass it to a member of her team who should contact you pretty quickly to try and resolve the issues.
I was in a similiar situation and also moved to Sky and I can't describe how relieved I am to finally get away from the disgrace that is Talk Talk.
