Personally I think you sense 'depression' being fed up/feeling down/not being happy or settled. A black mood (why the man is dressed in black). Like sensing a dementor -if you're into HP.

It's still early days from a very big and unexpected change to your lives. :)

I used to sense someone in black watching me after my mother died when I was 13, the way someone explained it to me was that it was my spirit guide watching me when I needed it. They told me who it was, and even I didn't know about this person until I looked at my family tree. I'm not sure if they were just being kind as the first name they gave me is quite common or if they truly believed it, but it gave me comfort at the time.

Ojo, when you read this thread back you are going to be so embarrased at your spelling :rotfl:.
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

I spect your dog is thinking, oh god, why is she looking over there again? She's freaking me out!
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

I sense (don't see) a man in black in the hall and the dog stares at the same place constantly. Take the p1ss all you want, it wont change how I feel. I don't really believe in ghosts but that doesn't dtop me sensing what I sense. I sense he's not a happy chappie either.

  • i thought the same after i posted. Maybe it won't be too bad if she senses he's wearing a flowery dress and wellies.

Re the scary picture - I didn't notice the left hand side at first.

My eyes were drawn to the huge penis on the right hand side!

I think that is just an image which is coming from my subliminal mind though :o. On looking more closely, I think it's a pipe of some kind... (if you'll pardon the pun)

Only then did I see the image on the left hand side. It's scary - but not as scary as realising what your own subconscious is up to!:rotfl:

So, I'm inclined to go along with the suggestion that you might be 'seeing' your/your OH's sadness in the house.

We lived in an old Georgian farmhouse about a mile from our nearest neighbours. One day, my cleaner gave me notice of leaving after only spending a 2 x 2 hour sessions at the house. She said that a little old woman, with a critical and disapproving face, watched her from the top of the stairs as she dusted and hoovered the hallway and it frightened her.

She was a useless cleaner, so the little old lady did me a favour. I did my own cleaning afterwards and never saw the little figure so I think she must have approved of my cleaning regime. :D

Our local anglican church can do blessings, and maybe exorcisms but I may have made that last bit up; I can't remember if they do or not. Anyway, purely for MSE research purposes you could get someone out to bless your new house and see if that makes a difference to your heebies jeebies.
Or the Catholics would. Some of the non-conformists would too, just depends, mind you same's true of the Catholics and Anglicans, some of them would rubbish the idea.

how is saying a prayer of blessing in your home creepy?

So what's more stupid, having this feeling or seeing if you can do something about it? OK, so some ministers might not take you seriously, but others will.

You can give yourself the 'logical' talk all you like, but it's not changing the way you feel, is it?

I truelly believe that everyone who lives in a house leaves something of themselves when they leave. When I have been looking for new houses there have been some that have seemed really nice structually , but have made me feel that I could never live there. Some houses just have a nice feel about them.
