    I followed GreyhoundAngel here....

    she doesn't know yet.... :shhh:

just want to say, haven't read all through the thread or previous thread yet but am looking for all the help I can get.

we are in a situation where DH is self employed, have no savings, and this week when we found out his Dad had had a heart attack, he would not let me pay for him to go and see him, finding cheapest tickets, etc and not pay bills. As we have no savings, he doesn't get paid if he doesn't work, so he didn't want to take time off work as we are struggling to make rent each month. No, we don't qualify for much help with HB as between us our earnings are quite high  - they are not, but you know the government and it's formulas ..... :rotfl:

    anyhow, just wanted to say...

I have just written my first MSE christmas card :D

MSE as I got it free from funkypigeon :D

we and the kitchen aid mixer will see you next week. xxxx

I was joking about the kitchen aid hon! But am looking forward to seeing you all! Make sure you have some space left spare in the boot of your car, so that we can do a 'shopping trip' around the house! I have soooo much here, I need to rehome some stuff (despite sending my best friend home with a couple of carrier bags full of stuff the other week!). You in need or know someone who is in need of some new (still packaged) hot water bottles + covers? Cos I have 4 or 5 going spare and the bouncy one seems to generate heat like a power station!

    Much love

It was Kittie who got me into all this - and more besides! All those weird American forums I'm in are ALL KITTIES FAULT. :)
Made the RV take me to a town that has a real green grocers and got a fivers worth of veg :( now I suppose I'll have to eat the bloody stuff. I'll nuke it into soup though.
Got quite worried at how knackered I am trying to walk any distance further than the house to the gate. I was so out of breath that the woman asked if I was ok :embarasse It was even worse walking back with 2 cabbages, 2 turnips, 2 caulis, a bag of baby turnips and a bag of apples :D but the whole lot came to a fiver so I'm happy.
Sun shining here but its 9C, I was wakened at 2am by loads of geese going over. Cold weather coming !! I want to know where has the cheapest hot water bottles , if anybody knows?

Do hope things get better for you all. Tough times indeed; we are in a slightly similar situation (though without the heart attack) - self employed, no savings, battling to make ends meet. Need a lot more elastic ....
Anyway, warm thoughts to you and yours. This forum helps us a lot, on many levels.
Love all round, the cake xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi! you could join Ravelry, a lot of free patterns on there, just search Christmas decorations, but I warn you it may well waste a lot of time tootling around there looking at patterns.

As for LIP well been there got the t shirt and no one on E bay wanted to buy it! I feel this thread keeps me sane and the support I have recieved on bad days, the laughter the rest of the time is priceless!

Off to take Dd to Ikea to buy a drying rack as she is over run with wet washing and doesnt want to use my dryer which now lives in the office holding up a leftover piece of work surface!

    hugs to all
Clearing the junk to travel light
    Saving every single penny.

Talking about knitting patterns (hello everyone :)) Do you all know about https://www.ravelry.com ? I can't knit but crochet off to look at the other thread about crochet undergarments for a laugh in a moment and find alsorts on here.

About it getting tougher. I'm actually scared at how this is all going to pan out. We have no debt but we don't have any savings either. We literally live hand to mouth every month. If it is going to get tougher I don't know how the heck I am going to make the budget stretch.

edited # sorry ginnyknit. we posted at the same time.

Ooh, I go away for a bit and come back to HJ's shiny new thread.

Apologies, I seem to have tracked mud all over it. Pesky chickens!

Welcome to lurkers and newbies, and thanks to everyone who worried about me while I was gone. I'd like to say it was for a special reason, but it was just that my evenings were taken up watching ALL SEVEN SEASONS of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with my daughter:rotfl:mainly because I've got a lot of knitting to do and I NEED entertainment while I'm knitting, otherwise my brain falls out.

I suppose the logical thing to do would be to watch Angel now, but I haven't got that. Anyone recommend any telly I've missed that I can get from Tesco DVD? I promise I'll still post!

In other news, DS has departed to university. ASK ME HOW MUCH MY SHOPPING BILL HAS GONE DOWN BY :T

Of course, I have to pay him a monthly allowance but still...

Did I miss anything (apart from knitted thongs, apparently) on the old thread? There are far too many pages to catch up. Is everyone still about? Any good goss (pm me!)?

Love to you all. Happy OS-ing x
