Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 11th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all,
Still dark here, but seems very mild long may it continue :Tdont want the heating on for a while yet, yesterday eve it was warm enough to be in the garden with a t-stirt on :T

Morning Redruby and all who follow,
Really tired this morning, parent's evening was very helpful but very long last night, so long that I didn't get back in time for my ballet class!
WM is on and I am going to peg out the washing in a minute as the forecast is for no rain.
Packed lunches made for everyone, tea tonight is something made with the remains of the left over pork from sunday.
Hugs to all that need them especially Bargainbird and Lou.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Been up early as I pulled a muscle in my neck while sleeping! Then the baby got hiccups which is just so cute I laid awake enjoying them
I have to do the school run today, hand in a letter of complaint to the school about the removal of afternoon breaks!!
Still have to get bread on, but mainly I am going to be pottering, as I have had two days with DS at home with a tummy bug.
Dinner today is Pesto Pasta for the boys, I am having a pork chop with... no idea... veg maybe! Oh I fancy Cauliflower Cheese... yum yum yum!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Morning RedRuby and all who cross and follow
Bit grey here but mild no heating on yet. Actually got some sleep last night which was good feel far more positive today. I can cope on 5 -6 hours a night so long as it's decent sleep. Plan today to do Mum's cleaning, then I plan to visit the unit I've got an interview at next week for a look around. Then I need to come home and clean my own house. Not sure about tea yet will have a look at what needs using up.
JACKIEG good to see you posting, sounds like you've had a rough time. Hope all goes well for your BIL today.
Welcome new peeps .
Right off to get organised, have a good day all

So many thanks from the bottom of my heart for all your supportive posts. I spent much of yesterday emailing and researching and it does not look good. For an Individual Funding Request you have to be one in a million (literally) and it looks like this is where my case failed. I cant even understand why I was put forward for the funding as this gave me false hope. Anyway I will still fight it and i am very lucky to have lots of support from my family. It is very humbling as two of my children have offered me their savings, which I could never accept. However I could accept their help in raising funds and may well go down this road. I am seeing my GP on Monday and I know she will write a supportive letter so I am not giving up anytime soon!

So I plan to go Christmas shopping today in MK with DD. I dont really want to but am determined to get myself out of this Slough of Despond or swamp of despair :eek::eek:I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning everyone
Overcast, and dark here, still doesn't appear to be too cold though. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Dinner last night was quickies for everyone. DS2 is making pizza at school today so that will form some sort of tea for the boys - DH and I will be having HM quiche (I've made the pastry case in advance) so just need to organise the filling. Going into work early this morning to open up, so would like to get away 15 mins early if poss, (don't think that will happen but can try!!). Running late this morning, need to get a wiggle on.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Morning all
Will have to read last couple of days - sounds like I missed bad/sad news - lots of love to you if you need it! xo
Misty, wet and mild here this morning, so any washing will have to go on the airer. Mon/Tues had the plumbers here fitting new radiators and boiler, so been cleaning and tidying. DS was off school both days, so a nightmare being stuck in 1 room with him and a toddler while work was happening!
Tea not christened yet, might be freezer surprise.
Will try to pop back later, have a good morning all.

Good Morning all, busy morning this morning I have to take DD to the dentists (yes I know she's 42 and big enough to take herself but she hates dentists and its only me dragging her there that keeps her going .After dropping her off I have to whizz around to the breast care clinic to see the Dr. (hopefully ) for my check-up which had beed cancelled for the forth time last week.heads will roll if anything goes wrong today I should have had this check up in June. Then back to pick DD up.She was a happy bunny last night as she had a letter with a tax-rebate yesterday which was quite unexpected. They took Henry to see his new school for next year and he came home with a great big grin chattering on about bunsen burners and the science lab there .His slightly olderbrother who started there last month was very blase about it and said 'yes its not bad on the whole I suppose 'So both boys will go ther and by next September I will just have little Mikey to cart to school in the mornings They do grow up so quickly once they get to Senior school though.Well time to get the coffee on and in the shower
Have a great day chums mid-week already
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
Morning all!
Not told OH about my grandad yet, he's quite stressed at the moment and can be a little insensitive when he's having an 'all about me' moment. Will pick a quiet night when it's just us two.
Thanks for your hugs and support - Jackie - I will make time next time to come meet you for a coffee!
I am having a quick coffee before work, it's so quiet at the moment i'm not rushing to get there before nine.
Lunch is tinned soup and low calorie bread. Dinner is pork of some sort. Need to tidy kitchen and living room today!
Have a lovely day all

Grey here this morning, but it is dry so I have put the washing that didn't quite dry yesterday out on the line again, Hopefully it will dry
Then I have to go and get my dressing changed and get a few bits in Asda that I can't get in Aldi.
I was hoping to get DH to take me to Hemel but he has to put a roof on a shed at work so he will be late home. So I will try to get him to take me one day next week.
JackieG It was nice to see you posting again, and I am sending positive vibes for BIL today x
