Another vote for ebay
usually about 3000 sofas for sdale at any given time and most don't sell.
Picked up two 3 seat sofas once for £30. They were in perfect nick, non smoking/pet free household, with spare removable, washable covers and loads of cushions.
Thats good value.
Going slightly off-topic but am I right in thinking.... if you get a council property they give u a small amount to decorate. Whether you work or not0 -

Where I work, it depends on the state of the property. The amount of 'decoration voucher' varies - ie the more obviously in need of decorating, the higher the amount. I think it's capped at about £250.0 -
A friend of mine moved into a council property recently, no decorating allowance, it's all painted beige and she can't paint it to her taste for a year - probational tenancy conditions so she tells me.Strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government0

Do you have any charity furniture stores? The British Heart Foundation have a furniture store close to me and you pick good quality sofas up for under £50.0

Charity stores such as british heart foundation.
Ebay is probably your best bet, you can pick up some right bargains on there.
As for the council giving money for decorating, mine doesn't! They stripped the bedroom walls back to the plaster, and put woodchip on the ceilings and painted it white to hide the damp problem!!!!!!!0 -
Try and see if Gumtree or CheapCycle have a site with a local group0

Brett you say most of the furniture you have is from your own flat yet on other threads you have posted you claim to live with your father in a house,
I think perhaps you should read what you previously post before making another thread in order to not give the game away that you just whiling away your time making pointless threads.0 -
