That shows you crime in the area when you stick Beeston in. It looks like it is near the University so might be a lot of students nearby. So it might be cheap on somethings (usually beer and takeaway) to try draw in student trade.

The crime rate is pretty low. Antisocial is high but we had a lot for antisocial behaviour around my uni so that might have something to do with it.

Hi, Like most areas everywhere there is good and bad, plus points is it is very close to Nottingham City and has very good rail connection and public bus transport, It has a decent shopping area and some good facilities, If you relocate with your work and find you don;t like living there you are within easy reach of many other areas to live. :)

One in leeds one in notts.

I am on about the one in notts but wondering if it is rough or not

Lol, I used to run a pub there and it was a ball! (Too much of a ball, the pub is now boarded up!!) Locals are friendly and I liked it - but I'm a Nottingham girl anyway, so I would say that :) Some parts are rough, as with any where. Nice little centre with shops etc and near the Uni. Which HA did you apply with? As with everywhere, housing is an issue here.
  • It depends, with there being 2 Universities nearby (didn't see the 2nd on the map) there will be a lot of people moving through the area and there is probably a lot of small more affordable housing to cater for the student market. There may be slightly less demand for council housing in that area because of the high student population BUT demand for council houses is very high everywhere.

Depending on how you want to live I don't think you would have too much trouble finding a houseshare or small flat while you are on the council list.

Erm, yes! (Unless there have been some large changes in the last year) They couldn't even place me as a high risk pregnancy (was on bed rest from 22 weeks) but managed something at the 11th hour, thank goodness.
  • Nottingham Beeston has a nice coffee shop - The Bean. And it's close to the city yet close to the motorway. It's pleasant enough.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
