Anyone had any experience of upgrading with Tesco? I've come to the end of my 12 month contract on their £35 plan and looking at getting the 64GB iPhone 4S. Will I be able to haggle either the phone cost or line rental down do you reckon?

Douubt it, the plans that are on offer are a steal, with the airtime working out to around £10 per month, which is better than the promoted GG with goody bag

No Tesco don't do upgrades. I'm in the same position, and I have been told I will need to take out a new contract.

think they do it over the phone (could just be for staff so ask) in shops you just sign new contract and then port your number silly way of doing it but thats what they did when i upgraded 3gs to iphone4
Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
    you are on!

if i had known then what i know now!

a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!
  • Anyone else waiting for a text from Tesco to find out if/when they're getting the 4s.
I'm not holding out much hope!

I have been into my local Tesco.

    They had around 4 4s in :-S

The member of staff advised me they had only around 600 units across there Phoneshop estate.

Dont know if this helps anyone.
  • Just been to local tesco - they haven't got any - apparently tesco "screwed up and failed to order from apple in time". reckons they'll have some next week.
  • i just spoke to 'sales' on the phone and they are *hoping* to have stock from monday - bah!
  • Anyone had any luck regarding ordering an iPhone 4S from Tesco?

They've had some in my local store but not the 64GB. I called them today, they reckon they won't get any more in until November but to keep calling just in case.

I edged my bets when I was looking at an HTC and registered with Tesco. I got my email this morning offering me the iphone 4s. I'm now considering going for it due to the recent revelations of HTC's less than perfect customer service. I dont fancy waiting on the new Nexus either. I just want to get rollin' with a new phone and Apple appear to have the product that offers decent support. I looked at the Samsung GS2 - but am not into pink tinted photos and plastic phones :(

    Tesco would work out at : Contract period (12x25) £300 + (initial upfront phone cost) £335 = £635 for 250 mins, 5000 texts & 1 GB

GG would work out at : Contract period (12x10) £120 + ( initial phone cost) £499 = £619 for 250 mins, Unlimited texts and data ( until a fair use policy comes into force)

So using the GG word its £16 cheaper to buy the iphone outright and use GG, plus (for the moment) you have uncapped text and data. Or have I added up the figures wrong ?
