Skint_Catt wrote:I know it's not easy when you're ill to think about food, and it's not the cheapest way to live long term, but Sainsburys used to do microwave meals like macaroni cheese or veg lasagne for £1 each (own brand). I know Asda have had some 50p roast dinners recently.
At least try something like that to get your strength up.

One thing you COULD get hold off, is a meal pot. they are like thermoses, but with a wider neck, so you can get all sorts of leftovers in there. I saw one in TKmaxx last week for £2. seen online for about a fiver.
Tell me what youve got in your cupbaords, Ill see if theres anything easy you can make out of whats there. otherwise Im hunting you down with a tupperware of leek & potato soup lady and no running away from my cooking! :A:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Hi
Am I right in thinking you work at M&S HO? If so you should speak to OC health / HR and get some support. They are very very supportive having been through them myself. I was bullied by my team and I didnt speak out soon enough, in the end I quit without a job and only then did I got to HR had I gone to them when things first got bad they could have helped and moved me. I know this isn't the same as your situation but I wanted to tell you how they helped me.
You really need to be eating because if you dont you won't be well enough to work and then you won't have enough to pay your debts. I know the staff restaurant is subsidised why don't you have your main meal at work and have filling cheap soups at home?
There is a lot of presure working in London to keep up and many people are in huge amounts of debt because of the London life style going out for drinks after work or dinner. You are doing the right thing but please you must eat you can't put debt before your health.
Please look after yourself.0 -

If you search on yahoo groups for freecycle and see if there is one in your area - insteads of ebaying things or throwing them away, people offer them free to good homes.
I've given away exercise equipment that only ever took up floor space, furniture from my old flat I'd kept in the shed for 5 years, old VHS videos, and old crockery, and received a PC monitor, a breadmaker ansd some other bits and pieces. All stops stuff going to landfill!Debt free 4th April 2007.

Deliciosa,
you have lots of us worried now - please eat! Eating well is more important than paying off the debt.
Think of it this way - that nifty transfer to a lower rate is saving you money - so you are lowering your debt even in your sleep. Now in order to have the energy to earn and to get rid of the rest, you need energy.
At the moment it sounds as though you feel you have failed (that's not true!) and are punishing yourself by depriving yourself. Really you should be getting into good habits - think of them as a reward for that card you have already cut up.
Can you cook? The way I read your messages, you are thinking about feeding yourself in terms of eating out, and that's way more expensive than buying basics and cooking your own. (I'm sure lynz will give you the low-down on soup making if you don't do so already!)
Have you been over to the Oldstyle board for cheap food ideas? And if the baked potatoes are boring, and you don't eat dairy, mash in some herbs or spices - a little goes a very long way!Miggy

thank you guys for food ideas too, i have a big bread craving at the momemnt, all i want to eat is plain baguettes, don't know why, but at least they are cheap!!!!
should i start a debt free diary? would anyone read it? that might be helpful so thsat i can write down little successes...

Hi Deliciosa
I'm really worried about you, you seem to be really pleased that you haven't spent any money on food all weekend, whilst being thrifty is one thing I really feel you need to give yourself a food allowance. Please please talk to your GP or OC health you must eat properly.0
