welshcakes wrote:there is terrible inconsistency even between neighbouring councils. Mine has fantastic free bulk item removal, black and green wheelie and green recyclye schemes. The next one down (both Welsh) has non of these things. It appalls me that the other doesn't even have a green bag recycling but does have two massive landfill sites that are near to full.
thought it was law for all councils to do kerbside recycling. how do wales get away with not doing it? are they a special case.
Lancashire scrapped their recycling kerbside service and was ordrede to reinstate it or else (certain places)

Ours has been broken for ages...the lid is long gone...of course the upside is that they can't really enforce the "lid has to be closed or we won't empty your bin" policy they have on us.
I am too scared to ask for a new one incase they give us a small black bin which holds 1 and a half black bags tops. Even with recycling (and we do all the stuff they collect) thats not enough when it's a bi-weekly collection!!!:hello: TTC since 11/090 -
No bin for us for general waste (have to use black bags) but we do get box for recycling and a wheelie bin for green waste!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0

Well it is usefull info for many of us who have had broken bins for ages.
You see with the lids broken off the wind blows the rubish out everywhere into the street and gardens.
Our council recognises the problem, they were very helpfull, Leeds, Yorkshire.0
