Sorry to hear about Mr B.

I'm hoping he gets a job offer from the big green lorry people.

  • Sorry to hear about your OH, I hope it gets sorted soon. Re constructive dismissal is it worth the hassle? Depending on how close knit the industry is it can be really difficult to get another job if you make a name for yourself as a trouble maker. It isn't right or fair but in my industry it would make you unemployable.

    Nora - thank you:D

DFW321 - that is exactly what I think. I am sure it will all come good:)

Bonnington - if they don't offer him a job, they must have something wrong with them;)

And Scarlett, I'm thinking the same thing too. Just put it behind us and thank our lucky stars he left before he caused some serious damage.

Thanks guys, I'll keep you updated

  • So sorry to hear about Mr Banwa's job :( Be positive - these things are sent to try us and everything happens for a reason - I know they are terribly cliche but you have stay optimistic.

My OH lost his job about 7 years ago now and he is normally the no nonsense type of guy - but I found he got very glum, I don't know whether he saw it as a real knock on his confidence or what but he slept in most days and found an unhealthy addiction with a scrabble game on the pc - I felt like I had to constantly gee him on to get his CV updated and out there. Miraculously he got offered a job and started on the last day that his redundancy pay lasted for.
    Just keep swimming!

Itsa, i agree with you entirely and I really am positive, in fact today I was quite excited. He was sorting stuff out that he had taken out of his lorry (well, I say sorting, he was spreading it around my house for me to tidy up:D), and I just thought how nice it was to have a fresh start.

The really good news is he got work today (albeit for just 3 hours because his lorry broke down) and he has work again tomorrow morning. He has his job interview and assessment with the green lorry people on Thursday which he will get paid for. So so far, he hasn't been out of work for a single day. He deserves to be treated well, he is trying so hard. He put a suit on to register with agencies. He travelled 30 miles to do the emergency job for them today, arrived all prepared and professional, to create a good impression. He also got a perfect score for a driving assessment he did last week. He's doing everything he can, and I am just so proud of him.

I also want to tell you all how lovely you are. :A

    That's it for now.
