If you want to use it as a versatile cleaner, the original CONCENTRATE is the one you want.
IMO, this one and the one with ammonia are the only ones worth bothering with. The rest (i.e. wipes and sprays) are all a gimmick to make more money out of the brand!
Hi,thanks for that, guess what! I've bought the 750ml all purpose one for 99p in poundstretcher.I need to dilute it now but don't have distilled/white?? vinegar only the brown one. Keep those tips coming. TIA
WACS:)Assalamu alaikum. May Allahs blessings be upon you0 -
I don't use vinegar... I just make it up to a 20% stardrops/water solution and that seems to work really well for me.
Give it a try... You might find you don't need the vinegar after all!0 -

I have checked my bottle (I have the original concentrated Stardrops, orangey colour in plastic bottle "The All Round Cleaner" one). There is nothing on it about not being tested on animals or suitable for vegans.
There are warnings:
Keep out of reach of children. Avoid eye contact. Contains Bitrex, a bitter substance which can help prevent accidental swallowing.
Also says:
Contains amongst other ingredients:
Perfume, Preservative 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1, 3-diol
If you are looking for something not tested on animals, have a look at the Method range of products. I have their All Surface (Pink Grapefruit) cleaner and their Bathroom (blue, smells a bit minty) cleaner. I'm impressed with both and I like the company ethics. One squirt goes a long way, I've had mine for months and not finished a bottle yet. I get mine from the Co-op as it's the only supermarket here but I'm sure you can get them from plenty of places.0 -
Hi again:o
I'm hoping to do some repainting, especially the greasy kitchen walls. Could I use SD as an alternative to sugarsoap and if so what measurements of dilution would I have to use.
Also I would like to clean my carpets and thinking of hiring a carpet cleaner-would SD be appropiate to use and is it good on carpets.:)Assalamu alaikum. May Allahs blessings be upon you0 -

I don't think SD is as strong as sugarsoap, so you might be better off using the real stuff to get all the grease off the walls.
If you're hiring a carpet cleaner I doubt they'd let you use anything other than the 'recommended' liquids that they also sell to you. They may specify there will be a fee/fine if you use anything else as it may break the machine. (Load of rubbish but worth checking as this is often how they get you!)0 -
I bought my first bottle of star drops last month and I absolutley love it!
Made a spray bottle up with stardrops, white vinegar and water and I use it on everything. The usual suspects - kitchen counters, bathroom, windows...but also used it to remove a stain on my cream sofa and to remove blood from clothing. There's nothing you can't use it for!
I love that its gentle enough to use it on fabrics but use a few squirts and it foams up to remove greasy stains or clean the oven.
I will never buy another cleaner again!0 -
All of those who love Stardrops may like to check out this: ethicalconsumer. /FreeBuyersGuides/householdconsumables/householdcleaners.aspx (Sorry, I'm not allowed to post direct link as I'm a fairly new user)
Very interesting! Especially note the position on the ethical listing relative to a well-known 'environmentally friendly' brand0
