how exactly does this make you feel uncomfortable ?
Are you an illegal immigrant, are you employing illegal immigrants ?
Or do you just feel sorry for fictitious people you have never met ?
Perhaps its political and you think we should open up the borders, if that is the case, how many spare rooms and sofas do you have ?
Why not advertise your space on here and take a few in.
Or perhaps you feel uncomfortable in working people fighting back who have lost jobs and homes to illegal immigration, fighting for their children to have a future, a job, a home.
Maybe this is what makes you feel uncomfortable ?

Its as easy for an English speaking Black or Coloured person to report an illigal immigrant as any White English speaker and the debate shouldn't resport to the same old racial discrimination arguements.

    I agree.

Help explain then the criteria that the public should use to spot an illegal immigrant.

    Same here.
I this really the society we want? Tipping off other people we suspect might be illegal. Reporting people we suspect might be benefit frauds.
    It stinks.
Law enforcement is the state's job. Sort out border control and benefits admin, that's all there is to it.

I suspect that the government do not have enough resource or intend to allocate resource to dealing with the tip offs they are going to receive.

That combined with EDL and BNP members flooding the helpline will mean very little is actually done.

    What goes around :)
Nick Griffin's British National Party, already under investigation for breaches of electoral law, is facing fresh allegations of corruption. Panorama uncovers new evidence of financial documents being falsified and fabricated in order to deceive the Electoral Commission. The programme also has evidence of the BNP's failure to declare major donations to the party.

    No not really.

How do you spot them? Is it just being non-white and not speaking English very well - that would seem to be the primary criteria that EDL & BNP members would use.

During the build up to the last General Election ,when the question was raised about illegal immigration there were plenty of non white 1st,2nd and 3rd generation immigrants saying there should be a clamp down on illegal immigration so personally I only have one problem with the plan and that is they don't have the resources to deal with the problem.

Personally I see the left wing "open the borders to everyone" brigade more dangerous than the BNP or EDL . For one thing the latter had no chance of ever being in a real position of powe.r

    Huh, why?

If they ARE suspected, and the investigation finds they ARE illegal, what difference does it make who reports it?

I doubt the BNP would spend their time just ringing the hotline for fun. Why would they jam a line which they, assumingly, would be in favour of?

    No not really.

An illegal immigrant is a person who has entered the UK illegally - how would I suspect this unless I'd seen them hanging off the underside of a lorry.

I'm not an employer so don't see peoples NI documentation and I don't pay cash for work done by tradesmen. I buy takeaway food but assume that HMRC, Environmental Health, Customs & Excise are better placed to judge hence I don't ask for ID from the employees.

How do you spot them? Is it just being non-white and not speaking English very well - that would seem to be the primary criteria that EDL & BNP members would use.

    What are your criteria?

Several people living to one house all of a sudden. Might be completely and utterly innocent, but it would raise my suspision. If it's perfectly innocent, nothing will happen to them.

People offering car washes etc on the sides of the road, not speaking a word of English, moving around etc etc. Workmen offering services in the street.

I doubt I will ever see that where I live, but it's happened elsewhere.

If you don't suspect it, you don't report it. No ones telling you you HAVE to report people.

    I can't believe that either.
