Yes, we give advice, but we try to refrain from advising in the Art of Deception.

Yehhh! Clutton is not having a bad day.
    FREEDOM IS NOT FREE
  • This place is for advice, but when you are financially taking advantage of another person expect to get judged. If your landlord cannot afford their mortgage payments because of you and they go into arrears, and you won't even say what has got you into this situation and dismiss suggestions to visit the DFW board, don't expect any sympathy.

my advice is if you want money - go to a bank/friends; if you are entitled to benefit - apply for it; if you cannot afford where you live - move somewhere cheaper; or as black-saturn says - go to the council.

maybe my words were expressed harshly, but, i do not condone what you are doing.

"""My landlord isn't the understanding sort who will give me a bit more time, he'll try and get me out at the earliest opportunity"" -

this makes me SO mad - he is not understanding ? he could have had you out a month ago had he not been "understanding" ..

This is not true. It would take months to get to Court and as he is about to pay a big chuck of arrears he would be unlikely to be thrown out.

OP - I hope you sort your life out. As Alleycat says head over to Debt free wannabe for good advice.
  • im not being rude to you but i have a property that i couldnt afford the morgage when my husband left and i had to rent it out..i had severe problems with people paying the rent .. it causes so much stress worry and made me really ill .. you have to see it from the other side the morgage needs to be paid why should u live there rent free

in law both lenders and landlords are allowed to take mortgage holders and tenants to court if they are two months in arrears. Lenders rarely do (but i have seen a respossession application for £330 by a lender)

IF a tenant has not paid rent for 2 months a landlord can take them to court immediately under accelerated possession proceedings and have them out in 14 days.

clutton you don't know the full facts behind this which is why I'm suggesting you refrain from any further judgements. I am not deceiving anyone, especially as I am making these plans in order to pay my landlord back as much as I can (the 80% I've mentioned a few times). If I wanted to do a runner then I'd be out next week.

you are right - i do not know the full facts. You have told us you have not paid the rent for 3 months and do not expect to be able to do so for another 3 months. You expect your landlord to subsidise you for 6 months ............. These appear to be the basic facts.

If you come onto a public forum and only tell folks half the truth you must expect comments which may not be what you want to hear.

If you don't want to be judged then feel free to fill us in with the full facts, but that aside, fill your landlord in with the full facts and you may even get some help if He sees he'll get some money He's owed.

There are mechanisms in place to help you out, yet as far as we can see you are choosing not to use them.

If you want impartial advice, it's time to start being open, if you want advice on how to screw your landlord out of more free time, you've come to the wrong forum.

    AND

you are three months in arrears as well !!!!

is it just me, or does anyone else think this is taking the mickey ? What you are doing is stealing from your landlord, and asking us to help you steal for another 6 weeks. If you had mortgage you would have been in court weeks ago and possibly out on the streets already.

But, no, its ok to do what you are doing because its a private landlord ...........

If you have not had income to pay rent - why have you not applied for benefit, or if you have real expectations of money due to you - gone to a bank and borrowed money or gone to friends - no, you just decide to use your landlord as an unofficial bank

and before anyone asks, i am not having a bad day !!!

This was my first reaction too. Then I told myself not to be so judgemental as I don't what got the OP in this mess in the first place.

You need to calm down mate.
