What gives? That's been said to you about 5 times now, but about 4 different posters.
So who you accusing of disagreeing, all I have done and others on the thread is try to point out weather has effect? and your stance from your opening post seems to indicate you do not accept it as possible.
The main disagreement seems to be based on people wan't the reason for falling to fit in with a VI, but there is very good data to back it up as delayed spending.
Any kind of weather related change will either be brought forward, or in this case delayed spending.
So if they are blaming the weather they should be forecasting next month to be better as the delayed buying is added to that month.0 -

I stated on page one:I never said it doesn't affect business. Of course it does. But not to the extent of blaming the weather for the problems we have in the country tdoay.
HereNo one is saying any of the above. Either you are terribly confused, or trying your hardest to confuse the situation and imply people are saying things no one is saying. I think Hamish's detraction may be still in your head. The article doesn't talk about what Hamish was going on about.Everyone on this thread has accepted weather has an effect.
What else can I say that suggests I accept weather has an effect? I'm lost. It's like a never ending circle of you saying the same thing over and over, only to give you the same response, which is ignored again. You even quoted me saying everyone accepts wetaher has an effect this time, only to tell me I don't believe weather has an effect!
The disgareement, for the 57th time, is september was not unseasonably warm, therefore lies the issue, and the desperation to not face facts.
There is nothing else I can say if all you are going to do is tell me what I think over and over regardless of what I say in response.0 -

Excellent news.
So I take it that means we won't have to endure months of spurious assertions that the economy is tanking every time it snows this winter then.
Good to know.;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

If you don't make them, you won't have too.
Hopefully you won't be claiming every bad bit of data is due to the snow!0 -

I hope not, Graham's sarcastic weather threads make me positvely roar with laughter every time he posts one.
Once a week I think.
I prefer the flat screen TV comments though, I had an accident last time I read one of those. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The economy is tanking without snow, this is because the economy is on its last legs.
This is what happens when clever people run the country.0
