Anyone care to explain why payday last month saw record cash withdrawls.
I'll give it a stab.
People are withdrawing cash in order to budget more easily. Cards are very easy to overspend on.
Therefore people are thinking, after all my fixed outgoings I have £XXX of money left per month. I'll withdraw this in cash and then I know where I am with my monthly budget.0 -

We had a couple of warm days at the end that had been widely forecast. Now this *may* have had some impact, extra sales of BBQ's, food, drink, days out etc and a few less winter coats bought (really?). Do you not think that the poor sales figures for the entire month might be down more to something else than a widely forecast sunny couple of days.
Sometimes it is worth questioning what you are fed, sometimes it doesnt always totally add up...
The fact that september wasn't particularly any hotter than any other year, or colder for that matter, is being completely ignored.
We've ended up in an argument thats based again, on ignorance (ignoring the fact the Op was about a september heat issue, which we didn't have), and diversions (the winter coat thing).
It seems that no matter what the subject, it's always the same people disagreeing.
Thankfully, there are only 3, the usual 3, ignoring everything and diverting the conversations onto winter coats continually.
Hamish would have us believe that every shop is selling winter goods and no shop offers anything else the way he is going on.0 -

I for one would rather be on the beach than shopping during an Indian summer, so prepare for the same arguments when the Oct figures surface'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0

Well yoy the last two weeks of sept were way higher than the same time last year.
But who want to relate the data to the figures it relates to?0 -

Your right, who is disagreeing with the article and blaming it on something else and wont accept that weather has an effect?
Same people as always disagreeing with article that don't suit how they think.
You were talking about yourself and others wern't you?;)0 -

Everyone on this thread has accepted weather has an effect.
