    Absolutely none whatsoever.

Just add your name to the bottom of the list of all the people who have given up their time and offered their help to this loser & who have all been repeatedly ignored.

MTC, my name has always been near the top of the list. More fool me eh? Now I just talk wise for the hell of it. ;)

SP, I think that you (& everyone else) will find this thread from 17.08.06 very enlightening.

Yes folks, that thread is 5 months old, and yes, I was quite helpful on it, and yes, so were a lot of people, and yes, I do wonder why I bothered.

  • I have tried careers advisors, books, looking at job ads, careers websites and nothing gives me a spark.

I've got a car battery sat in the shed that'd give you a spark.

I had no idea that I'd end up doing what I do.

I missed the deadline for applying to teacher training which is what I was heading for. Turned out to be a fortuitous turn of events :)
I had no idea I would end up as an unqualified social worker; I started off in the NHS a long time ago and people were always important rather than their health needs. I am now nearly 50 and thinking of applying to do my social work degree - person centred needs rather than health needs. It took me a long time!

I did follow all of what has been said to me before and I draw up a list of things I wanted to do.

    From training officer
    HR Assistant
    Jobs in IT
    Jobs at universities

And I dont seem right qualified for any of them.

I think maybe a second degree or a masters might be needed to give me half a chance of getting a job.

I did look for this thread as I remembered there was at least 1. But with 300 threads started by Phil since he joined in July, I couldn't be bothered trawling through them.

Phil, 300 threads (and it's possible that that's just the limit that can be stored on your user profile so I don't know if there were more) in 6 months is 50 a month. You don't need me to tell you that is a LOT. It's no wonder you are repeating yourself as I don't think you're giving yourself time to use the answers to your advantage.

I honestly think that getting a JOB rather than looking for your ideal career is the way forward for you at the moment. It will break your apparent obsession with MSE a little, give you some independence, make you 'get on with it' and I think it will really do you the world of good. It's what I did when I left school and it gave me time to think about what I really wanted to do.

I am not obsessed with MSE. I think I need a job I am going to be happy with as otherwise I am going to end up worse than I am now.
