Maybe it is silly, but I think most people want to be at least equal to their peers.

maybe its silly but i think people know when they are going on continuously about the same thing, and when to stop!!

I'd much rather be friends with people better than me - great way to better yourself - surround yourself with people who make you think, make you question things, and make you grow

It is also good to have a few fun loving friends who end up in hotel corridors in the nude though!!

Yes it's very silly. If you grow up, you won't be obssessed by this futile competitiveness which is probably at the root of a lot of your behaviour. Stop measuring yourself against other people. I don't care what other people earn/do/have because I'm happy with my own situation. Envy and insecurity are extremely unattractive character traits and even more so when you display them on a forum frequented by 100,000 people; that's basically showing your bum to the world, so it's no wonder people want to kick it.
