When I got the email that you'd posted on an evening Birdie I checked the news to see if your home town was on fire or some such thing!

Do you think it's possible to become a challenge-addict? I don't seem to be able to embark on anything at the moment without thinking 'how can I make this into a challenge'? I'm going to need a wall chart rather than a signature soon to keep track of them all!

ETA: Can you tell I've been up since 5.20, I've already spent hours researching new money making schemes, planning for what to do with the inheritance, and trying to find a way to create myself a daily routine to achieve goals other than cleaning. At this rate I'll have scrubbed holes in the tiles but not cleared any debt or found a way to make money from home by the time maternity leave ends.

Dinah I work better when I have challenges. Saying "I need to clear this debt" does nothing but make me worry. Setting myself challenges such as "how much can I clear in 100 days" however really motivates me and I actually achieve things.

Any luck with the daily routine?

LOL! Funnily enough we have had a pub fire and mystery dead pigs on the road this week, it's all going on!

Looking forward to seeing the cake! So jealous of people who can bake, I've given in and get my friend to make OH's cake every year! :o

Thanks for the crayon art love too, it hangs in my hall and makes me smile whenever I walk through the door, it's so bright and cheery! :)

I can totally see you having a wall chart of challenges Dinah! ;)

  • OOoooohh thanks for the blog link Birdie, those invitations are perfect! Will definitely be consulting you when we come to make ours. Have also thought about making a button bouquet as well...We shall see.

As part of my mission to meet new people in this town, I'm thinking of going along to a Crochet class for beginners. It's something I've always wanted to learn how to do. Think I might be turning into a craft fiend!

The invitations are brilliant Birdie, if i lived nearer i would definately have you round to help me out!

So far at the moment ours are like a normal card that you open with a pocket on the left and main invite on the right. Can't decide what to put on the front.

The challenges sound good Dinah. Is hard to get anything done with a baby but the challenges will help keep you focused.
  • Dinah, leaping out of usual lurkdom. The thing about real fires is that they do create smoke and dust, my mum has had to stop using her fire, even with a wood burning stove as it affects her breathing. OK she is old but I did wonder of there might be similar effects for Grace? Don't really know for sure but thought that you may need to investigate a bit.

Thanks for posting tootallulah, I hadn't really thought of that, but you may well be right. We're actually in a cottage this weekend that has a wood burning stove, so we'll take Grace's sats monitor with us, see if being around it affects her oxygen requirements, if it does then that's that decision made I guess.

NIM gone shopping with his dad and girlfriend, I've stayed home with Grace as she's in a wide awake, smiley mood, and it seems a shame to bundle her in the buggy and go around shops when she can be laid on her playmat having a good old wriggle.

Blinking direct debit bounced off my business account where the mobile comes out of as a £35 charge was taken off, and I in no world expected a charge that large. So I've had to send £100 over to pay the bill, and presumably another charge, but I'll be going into town this week to cancel the account as I don't use it and because of that I don't keep track of the money in it well enough.

  • Just to say I had another dream about you having a second baby last night Dinah (not sure why my subconscious is preoccupied with your fertility!) - first time it was a boy called Luke, this time a girl called Heather Grace (yeah not sure why you gave her the middle name Grace) AND I delivered her AND there were loads of Alsatian puppies in the room.

Just putting it out there in case you turn out to be pregnant and I turn out to be psychic :)
