Cinny - the dogs are so cute! OH really wants a dog, but not sure we could afford the expense at the minute.

I think if you got an older dog you'd be surprised how little it'd cost :) Puppies are total money pits but give a dog a free bone from the butchers, plenty of cuddles, a good walk and you're pretty much guaranteed a happy dog!

In case your OH does win, and you end up with a pooch, you can get adult working dog food in 15kg for only £5.99 at Home Bargains :) which should last you a month at least.

Speaking to OH last night about his credit card as we're back in the red :( He paid for his car insurance on it and we had a solid plan to get it paid off within a few months to save us having a £100 DD every month. But as always, life got in the way! Looked at the account and we're "only" owing £750, which is less than I expected as we did pay for a couple holiday things on it, so I feel a signature tally coming on! :D

The Harry Potter talk has me totally lost too! :o

Thanks for the pics Cinny, wil have to look at home, stupid work internet blocks me.

OH and I plan to get 5 dogs eventually - I've named 4 already (Robert, Nathan, Ian and Miriam) OH hasn't decided yet! Way in the future though, if everything goes to plan we don't expect to be settled enough for pets for another 5 - 6 years. Which is good as I want to do everything we've planned but sad as I want a dog now! Luckily OH's parents go on holiday a lot and we look after their lovely dog when they do so we can pretend we have one really :D

Excited as I have the day off work tomorrow - going to see the Dalai Lama :j Have to be there at 6:45 in the morning which is a bit early, luckily it's only 10 mins walk from my flat :)

Flower and Susie-Sue (ETA: and Beccie!), get on the [strike]bandwagon[/strike] broom already! :)

John's lovely Cinny! He looks like a real character! :) OH really wants a dog but I don't know... I like them for about half an hour then they start to annoy me :o Maybe it's just my friend's badly behaved dogs as OH insists that he'll train ours properly but I'm not sure about taking the risk. It does worry me that if I can't be hassled with a dog after 30 minutes how the heck am I going to deal with a baby?! ;)

Our cheques have cleared today, and it's payday so it's mega money shuffle day! Paying off CCs and ordering vouchers through work to pay off our holiday (we only save 4% but it works out as £136 saving which isn't bad!). Our bank balance will be back to what it's used to in no time! :o Feel like a weight has been lifted though :D

I'd love to adopt a staffy but almost all of them are recommended for houses without small children and, well Grace kinda was there first.

They are a lovely breed and look awesome.

Ohh, lucky! To get Ryder I had to promise we'd just be a one dog family :(

NIM - Most of them are just advertised as that because of all the horror stories. But come on, they were nanny dogs! They love kids :) Maybe when Grace is a little older you could get one? From what I've heard they're a bit of a handful, just balls of energy! Makes me so sad to see so many in rescues though, they are gorgeous dogs.

It'd be different with your own dog, Birdie! But I'm biased and think everyone should have a dog :o Have fun spending your shares :D It was only about 7 months until our hovis pennies were long gone :D

Just going on what the RSPCA and Dogs trust say on their adoption websites for them. I agree they are gorgeous dogs, its unfortunate a certain section of society breed them into fighters.

Our friends have a staffy/lab cross and he's really good with their LO. He hates her because she picks on him, but he puts up with it really well! ;)

Just saw Martin's tip about Abercrombie stuff on sale at Sports Direct, I'm trying to ignore the fact that Abercrombie is being sold at chavclothes.co.uk and focus on the fact that the clothes are really good quality (got stuff from about 7 years ago that still looks new) so bought 2 tops, a dress and a scarf for £40 and found a code for free delivery (plus Quidco of course!). Good times! :) Not too sure about one of the tops, but if it's no good I can keep it to give to my SIL for her birthday :)

Maybe look at local rescues, they tend to be a lot fairer with dogs and focus on their personal qualities not their breed :)

What's worrying is Huskies are becoming the new status dog to have and it's just shows how stupid these people are. Huskies were bred by the Chukchi, who went to amazing lengths to weed out any aggression in the breed. Huskies are naturally affectionate dogs, stubborn and need constant training, but they're amazing family dogs. They're not aggressive, so it's beyond me to even try and think how these people must treat them to turn them "nasty". But even then, I don't think any dog's beyond rehabilitating with the right training. I just hope either breeds don't go the same way as american pitbulls :( Some humans are just idiots that need a round kick to the face.

Hear hear, now all we need is a law letting us do it.

Well we shop there too TBH... but for actual sports wear because it is insanely cheap! :o I just don't like the fact that they sell 'premium' brands for pennies because the chavs get their hands on it and make it look cheap and common. Of course I like the fact that I can get nice things at a bargain price, but it does seem to come at a greater cost. :p I have a vintage Burberry mac and scarf (from when my parents wore them in the early 80s) but I can't bring myself to ever wear them because of what the chavs did to the brand.
