  • Rosa don't take this the wrong way but I'm going to do a wee :j - as I'm glad it's just not me :o

Same with me - I've thought about changing banks but I do get a good service and I like that I can have all the savings accounts (what I use as the budgeting pots) linked to my account & move stuff around really easily.....:T

I don't know if it's because you know what the c/card balance is when you get your statement, you then pay £x off and know how pretty much how much it'll be next month - whereas with the OD you never really have that as it's being used all the time so the balance changes?

Yep I found the od the bane of my life, once I cleared it I never got back into it though as it is just too easy, and costs a fortune, can u reduce it by £50 a month or so? Thus giving you a challenge to get rid of it

I do actually want to keep it - at the end of the day, it has saved me from taking on another loan which I really don't want to do atm.

I've had it sitting there for a good couple of years without using it - it was having to change the beeping car & all the costs that incurred that got me all messed up!

I'm sitting here in a fit of giggles now because for a moment I wondered why you felt the need to tell me that.

Then I realised you meant 'a little :j' not 'a wee, :j'... :rotfl:

  • OK folks ..... I may well ramble today :o as I try to figure out the way forward with the OD ..... please just ignore me!

    Stage 1 .... :o

Think I'm going to have to pay the pots back and start from there!

House & Car - Owed £50 from main account

have moved £50 within these budgets (from Emergency Fund to Car Maintenance/Servicing) which must've made sense at the time :o.

Figured out what the "logic" of this one was .... now, bear in mind that we're talking Rising logic here :rotfl:

"Borrowed" £50 from the this account which meant the Car pot was looking rather ill, so transferred £50 from the Emergency Fund pot to prop that up (Rising logic strikes again!:rotfl:)

    Pets Pot - Owed
    [STRIKE]£120 [/STRIKE] £50 from main account (Cats = [STRIKE]£70[/STRIKE] £20 & Dog = [STRIKE]£50[/STRIKE] £30)

Have transferred £70 from main account and repaid £50 to Cats and £20 to Dog

Cats pot is now enough to cover c/card spends this month, this month's money will cover big cats booster (done Sat & will be on next months' bill) but leaves no room to stock up on stuff.....

Have loads of their dry food and litter - but could do with some wet food.*

Dog pot looking a bit sad but with this months' money will pay what's on c/card bill & have a bit left (hopefully).

She shouldn't need a lot for a while as have just got dry food & supplements but do need wet food for her *

*may well get this. Have PAH 10% off voucher & wet dog food is cheapest here # but need to get the order up to min for free delivery so could get a small amount of wet food for the cats to do this:)

Can't usually order from PAH as they insist on a signature but at home just now so .... also get cashback & saves fuel by not going!:T

    #
unless I make a huge bulk order which would be good as it'd last around 6 months but can't really afford to do just now .... aim for next time I need some!

OD's are evil things and as you say hardest to say tata to.
I worry the bank will decrease mine.

  • Morning Rising,

don't get me started on OD's....Grrrrrrr. My current OD is for £2500 with an emergency extra £500 where they charge me the EARTH!!!. Well I am currently £-2738 :mad:.

I will get a bill for over £70 at some point this month for the priviledge. As soon as I get out of this, I will reduce it down to £300. I agree that having a small OD is a good idea, especially in the absence of an emergency fund. but £2500 is insanity....

Its good that you are paying back into your savings pots. I go through phases on savings pots and then they all get emptied when the washing machine/car etc breakdown. Grrrrrr.

Will try harder this year. Really need to save up a months wages in an account to cover lack of work or injury to my sole earner builder husband. that is a disaster waiting to happen .

Ok ramble over......Hope you are having a good day. Keep going, reckon you can get that OD blasted next year. xxxx
