  • Beeping OD's crept up again..... :( not making much progress on it ...... carp!:o

So - basically it's back to where it was at the end of last month :rotfl:- really need to see what I've bought....

I was going to say I haven't bought a huge amount of stuff being in the house - although DM has been doing my grocery shop with the resulting  when I've seen the bill but the c/card bill paid this month was quite a high one (will need to dig out to try to remember why) and think it was around the £750 mark....

Hopefully next month will be better - c/card bill is a much more respectable £230 :T with a fair bit to come out the pets budget and think I owe DM around £200 ....... probably a break even?

Need to stop spending as much ................

  • Anyway - dug out the pack of cooked turkey (which realistically must've been in there since last C:o) and have decided to make a curry with it.

Prob not really on the list of "can eat" just now - and will freeze in portions (trying to have stuff cooked so when I do go back to work - when I will be absolutely knackered, I don't have to cook IYKWIM)

If I keep it mild, I should be OK to have the odd one now & then:)

Defrosting just now so prob a job for tomorrow.

Has anyone tried turkey curry in a slow cooker?

Not sure whether to risk it as tried making a chicken one in the SC and it went really dry ...... mmmmm

OK .... this may sound nuts - bear with me and then please tell me if it is!:rotfl:

OD is back to where it was last month ..... but I raided some of the pots to try to prop it up.

Some, I'm not tooooooo bothered about ..... with hindsight I think trying to set up all the budgeting pots I did this year was maybe a bit ambitious :o - especially with all the overpaying that had to go on early on.

So .... how it stands as of today:

House & Car budget - Car: tax, service, maintenance, insurance / House: landline advance rental, insurance, emergency fund : £146.19

Not too bad but did "borrow" £50 from this account to prop up main account.

Also seem to have moved £50 within these budgets (from Emergency Fund to Car Maintenance/Servicing) which must've made sense at the time :o.

Would like to put that back as Emergency Fund sitting at £0.04  Car tax (due Feb £100) and service March (£250ish - it's a big one!):(

    Pets - Dog & Cats : £20.11

    Raided this one quite badly - owe it £120 (Cats = £70 & Dog = £50)

Could really use that back in the account as big cat had his booster on Sat which was £53:eek: (nearly fainted:eek::mad:) so that will wipe out this month's payment (and have around £50 on c/card to pay too) and want to stock up on dog's wet food as found a great offer (but have already had to buy her dry this month @ £27 and her supplements @ £13) so that will wipe out her amount this month:eek:

Others Pot - Clothes, Hair, Dentist, Presents : £3.76 so basically wiped out :o & don't really want to transfer anywhere as want the account to stay open

Have decided not to pay to it for November & December and start afresh in Jan.

This should hopefully give me a bit of leeway for a couple of months and I'll need to buy Xmas pressies from spends money anyway as no money set aside so this should hopefully cover this.

Getting rid of the "anything else" pot just now until things a bit more sorted so amending payment to: £55 / month : Clothes = £25, Hair = £8.50, Presents = £10, Dentist = £11.50

    The way forward..... ????

Transfer £120 from main account to Pets account to repay money borrowed = means I'll be able to cover spends on this month's c/card (extra needed money would need to come from main account anyway & prob increase OD .....)

Transfer £50 from main account to House & Car account to repay what's been raided from here.

    So .. that's £170 to add to my £650 = £820

Either way, in all probability, the OD will rise if I don't do this, as there's spends on the c/card this month that I can't cover from the pots as I've raided them. Carp!:o

  • Maybe I need to put the OD to £900 and then join the POAMAYC in 2013 Challenge with it.

I've always found the OD the (easiest thing to get into but) hardest thing to get rid of ....... much harder than having a proper "goal" like a c/card to clear etc - anyone else the same?

Yes! - am trying to get mine down to £500 so that I can pay it off with the other current a/c and then work on the smaller one which will somehow seem easier! I know I could change accounts but don't want to as the service is really good and I know all my numbers etc.

If Quidco would hurry up that would be another £100 off mine *taps foot impatiently*

Yep I found the od the bane of my life, once I cleared it I never got back into it though as it is just too easy, and costs a fortune, can u reduce it by £50 a month or so? Thus giving you a challenge to get rid of it
