Partly down to being housebound for 9 weeks after surgery last year (I was careful but there were still some daytime calls that aren't incl in my contract so did have a small overspend) and partly down to a rise in prices. Will have to have a shop around .....
mmmm current broadband provider does line rental for £12.99 / month or £9.49 / month if you pay in advance for the year ... that would be £113.88 and a pretty big saving over what I'm paying BT just now.
But I'd have to use the money from one of my pots  .... I could put the £10 difference back (and obviously start yet another pot to pay it next year:rotfl:) but it's which one to choose - only have 2 payments left until house insurance is due so don't really want to pick that one.
Why is it that it's so bloomin' hard to get sorted out when in debt / just out of it!:(
Also, really, really need to figure out how I can get some of these pots combined & keep track of what belongs to each bit in them - they are getting a bit out of hand:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hiya RFTA, found you. Your diary is quite intense, mine looks boring in comparison.

:rotfl:I did warn you :rotfl:
I have NEVER budgeted before - which is one of my main reasons for my debts in the first place and I will say I'm really obsessed with it just now.:o
It's taken soooooo long to get DF (and have been here before) and just sooooo want to never be in debt again .... hopefully once I've managed to pay some of the annual things (and can reduce the overpayments to the pots and can get the other bits in advance) - I'll calm down a bit!
Your diary is anything but boring - I really enjoy itand am trying to be a bit more relaxed about money ....I do suffer from OCD (various wee things that I can just about keep in check) but TBH, I've probably got more time on my hands than I should - I finished part of my degree course last year which took up a lot of time (need £4k to do the next bit  so that's not happening anytime soon) and losing the dog has meant that I really don't get out enough (trying to rectify that one)
moneywaster-nomore wrote: »1st question, how did you get the pictures in your post ?
OK .... hope this makes sense - if not, yell at me:)
You need to have Paint (should be under Start / All Programs if you've got Office) and a Photo*bucket (or similar) account.- Either highlight the area you want to use or press the PrtSc button for the full page (could be at the top or bottom of your keyboard depending on the make)
- Go into Paint and hit Ctrl v (paste)
- You can then Crop the picture to the size you want (great if you've done the whole page) using Ctrl + Shift + x keys
- Then choose Save As (top left of screen)
- Choose the JPEG option & save image
- Go to Photo*bucket (or similar) and Upload the new image
- Copy the "direct link code"
- Go to your post and choose the Image Icon (looks like a yellow envelope with mountains & a stamp on ) and paste the link in
Now .... must take myself off and see if the washing's finished & then cut the grass:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Cheers RFTA for that. I'm quite a technical person, so I should be able to get my head around it.
10 on line bank accounts. I have 7 but do very little with them. So put on my to do list, rename them and start putting bits in them.

Can i ask how do you name your bank accounts? Is this something that is available through your bank,or do you just mentally do it?0

I am with halifx and tsb and can do it with both of them. You can transfer money from one to the other in a instant, even very small amounts, and give accounts whatever name you want. I have 3 with halifax and 4 with tsb.

I have a daft amount of money pots:
Current account #1 - wages go here and I have a card for when I need cash
Current account #2 - I spend from here and make my PADs from it
Current account #3 - direct debit account
Then the "savings" pots:
Car fund
Christmas & birthdays
Rainy day fund
Entertainment
Credit card account (anything I spend on my card goes in here until the bill comes in)
Virtual Sealed Pot (held with another bank)
I also have one purse for food and I'm doing the second purse challenge, so have a second purse too
I sometimes wonder if I have MSE-OCD

Yup, mine are the same .... each has it's own account number but you can choose "friendly" names for them which makes it a lot easier! Thanks MWNM. I am with natwest and havent got that set up i dont think. Shame!
Had a quick hunt and came across this:
http://www.natwest.com/personal/savings/g1/instant-access/e-savings.ashx?DCMP=AFC-NWSAVAFCLEGALW
Looks pretty similar to what I have with my bank (e-savings accounts) so it might be worth a look if you fancy several pots. HTH:D
