As this thread is still 'live' for the OP I suggest you start your own thread.

This prevents comments being mixed up between you and the OP.

Fair enough I will give my own thread a go.

Thanks for all the replies!! It's looking like we will have to stay where we are and just carry on overpaying the mortgage........my problem being....I have never really loved the house and just want to move into a house that feels like a home before I'm tooooo old lol.
And those that are wondering why did I buy it then? We lost our dream house, and stupidly rushed into buying this one as our buyers were desperate to move.......never again !!

We are wanting to stay in the village but down size to a 2 bed period type property.

Just had a thought.... ask your agent if he has any clients that want to move up but are having trouble selling their 2 bed.... you might be able to do each other a favour with a part-ex swap.
    :hello:

It's a shame you never loved the house as it really does look nice. bright and airy and new. Course, everyone's tastes do differ.

    All the best with it.

My mil lived in what I think is exactly the same design of house by same builder- also around a green (but with a bandstand,!!).

She moved after 2 years because they found having the master bedroom at the top a pain with just 2 of them in their late 60s. She liked the green at first and it wasn't a factor in them moving but as the estate grew it attracted children from the other roads there were always kids on bikes shouting etc etc which is great if you have kids but not so great if you don't.

I brought in 2007 also and had to take a 34k hit on what i paid, only had 1 offer in 16 months. I see you paid 235k, your probably still around 8k over priced imo, you may get more intrest if you can drop it to £199,950.
