Mine's all dry - stripped the bed this morning and washed the bedlinen, and we've also turned the mattress, and removed the Merino underblanket and washed it, so hoping that will be dry in time to make the bed up tonight.

If not, we have an old blanket that can be pressed into service as a stop-gap.

As it's sunny, we're off out to Woughton to help ourselves to some more free apples.:money:

    Happy Birthday TOOTS!!

Took DD2 to drumming then DD1 and I did 3 tip runs, we have a small car :o
Then we went to collect DD2, we waited 20 minutes then to get a text message saying that her friends dad was giving her a lift home!:mad: I'm not happy I can tell you, waste of my time and petrol!!
We've come home and she's not back yet! We're having a quick drink then doing another tip run. Two more and we should be done.
DD2 has just walked in, given her a list of jobs to do while we're doing the tip :D
WM has finished so just going to hang that out.

I have just done a truly hideous job... While emptying plant pots I noticed the utility room drain wasn't going down very fast. I managed to prize the drain cover off with a screwdriver and it was clear that when the back door was painted some of the wood preserver had gone down the drain coating the inside. So rubber gloves on ... Lots of gritty, slimy, sticky stuff removed but it was still not draining... Managed to get the manhole cover up (despite the bits you lift it with being broken) and found a lump of cement or grout or plaster or something in there... Eventually after about 30 minutes of prodding with a large screwdriver and grabbing handfuls of gunk and tipping buckets of water down I have managed to clear it. I'm just glad that today has been a nice warm sunny day and I didn't discover the problem in the middle of winter! So I'm a bit behind on my jobs, but at least that's one nasty surprise averted!

Next I need to put away the clean laundry and work through the washing so I can have a whole lot of stuff ready for my ironing lady next week, and the airing cupboard is fairly clear as I know the plasterer will make lots of dust :(

And of course I need to work out what to pack...
  • ewww GreenBee, but well done for sorting the drain problem. Now go and start packing!

Back from my day out, so need to crack on - not sure what delight to tackle first, none of them are calling my name today, would rather go and sleep. But, needs must - HHI maybe?

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.
