well done on the drain cleaning Greenbee - hope you followed through with some hot water and household soda, to keep it clean;)

I've done lots of washing - all drying now. Yesterdays ironed and aired has been homed so maiden is clear and I can iron some more, which I will do shortly.

I have also cleaned the Vallimobile - and used my rainwater-tub water to sloosh out the buckets and sponges afterwards (no point using clean water for a dirty job, is there?) then checked oil, coolant and screenwash. I need more screen wash so I shall add that to the list. Then I vacuumed inside the car, cleaned the windows properly and sorted out the glovebox etc. I have also taken the cassettes out of the car - the cassette player (yes, it's THAT old) doesn't work so why am I paying good money for petrol to transport them? So a bit:money:.

OK, OK, I've switched the steamer on...gonna grab a coffee and then have one basket and a small overflow mountain to do. Once that's away I have some eBay treasures to iron, photo & list.

get going girl, shakes self, thanks Valli

Greenbee - you know my drain history, I feel your pain

Been out in the front sweeping up a huge dumper bag full of leaves from the horse chestnut tree. Decided I had burnt enough calories to scoff 3 chocolate digestives.

Rest of the family all engaged in various activities so to the machine mending next, first bit done.

Valli... Thanks for the reminder... Will dump some soda crystals in there and bung some hot water down it... Obviously I need to keep an eye on workmen as they never seem to think about anything apart from the job they are doing (no qualms about damaging work done by other people or b*ggering up other things in the house). I'm hoping that having one person doing so many different bits of the stuff around the house and garden will make him think a bit more about it!

Suppose I should get on... Towels are in the TD, sheet and mattress topper are soaking in salt water, so I need to put another load of washing on and make the bed with the under blanket and mattress cover from the spare bed. And get up early enough tomorrow to get everything washed and dried and tidied before I leave!

Greenbee - huge sympathy on the drains - I spent a cold evening with my arm round the bend of ours clearing old meat fat from the previous owners (DH was away as usual - every crisis was when he was away, so much less stressful now :A). It made sure I am very disciplined about tipping gunk into empty tubs for binning,a nd not down the drain.

Caustic soda is great trhough

I wouldn't know where to begin with something like that GREENBEE
DD1 and I did another tip run, so that's 99% of the garden rubbish done. Haven't gather the back hedge cuttings yet :o. The rest of the rubbish will have to wait 'til tomorrow as I didn't realise the tip closed at 4.30.
DD2 unloaded and reloaded the DW and now has gone to call for a friend.
One load of washing nearly finished in the WM. DD1 has eaten a quiche, she's been wanting it all day and as she's come down with a cold and still helped me with the garden rubbish without moaning I let her have it :D
We're having a "pick 'n' mix" tea, basically use up any leftovers and help yourself to it cos I ain't cooking! :D
Need to write myself a list of what I need to do tomorrow or I'll forget :o
Off to find something to eat . . .

Must have been clean in the kitchen - I actually cooked something for lunch/breakfast/dinner. Well, chucked some old veg into a saucepan of chicken stock.

Then had the bright idea of adding some dumplings to the broth.

Now have to clean the flour off the kitchen floor. Cat decided to launch herself at me for no apparent reason as I had a tablespoon heaped with flour just hovering between the flour jar and the bowl.

Tempted to boil the cat and have done with it. But figured the fur wouldn't taste too good.

Then a salesman from Talk Talk called. He didn't get far.

Another hour and I can start putting some slap on. Definitely going to tonight's gig. Decided against last night's when I was getting changed and heard someone hammering on either my door or next door, then jumping in their car and driving off at speed. I think it might have been the exBIL being a [strike]twa[/strike] little inebriated and thinking the Bloke was here, but I certainly wasn't going to go and check, as he got deposited on his behind last time I saw him.
