Towels dry, another load of washing in that can dry in the empty spare room while I'm away. Hot whites will go in late tonight or early tomorrow but need to be finished before I leave. Utility room is slowly emptying... And while I had access to the unused back door I finished off insulating it (I have a whole lot of foil-backed polystyrene which I think must be underlay left over from doing the kitchen floor years ago) and bubble wrapped the tiny window it has in it. So it is now hopefully waterproof (it was treated a couple of weeks ago), draught-proof and warm (due to both the insulation and the mountain of loo paper piled in front of it!).
The bad weather doesn't appear to be due here for a bit, so fingers crossed the rest of the stuff I need to do in outside can wait till I get back. And I really hope that the utility room will be back in one piece by the time I get home, although I'm not holding my breath!
I've decided to out e heating on timed, and set the thermostat at about 14 while I'm away, as well as leaving the dehumidifier on (if I remember!), so the condensation doesn't get too bad. It may be needed to dry out the screed on the utility room floor if the weather is damp... And I'm sure I'll need it to dry out the plaster when the ceilings are done! Let's hope that the painter can fit them in fairly soon after they are done as I don't want to live with bare plaster for too long.
I need to start working out how much paint I'll need (I have already handed over the white for the ceilings as I had a huge trade bucket left over from the utility room). The small bedroom (was the study, then spare room, probably going to be a study again) is duck-egg blue (not as cold as most blues, and works well despite the room being north-facing), hall, stairs and landing are primrose yellow (curtains have yellow, blues and greens in them), loo is poppy red, sitting room is natural calico, bedroom is cream, bathroom is white (with blues and greys in the tile border), kitchen is white with grey tiles and ancient liberty poppy curtains, utility room is white with blue handles (I have lots of white tiles, so might get some blue ones to mix in with them. The study (about to be a spare room/study if OH spends more time here) is currently magnolia which works well as it is south-facing, but I'm wondering about whether to change it. I have cream curtains for it, and the spare duvet covers are either navy, pink patchwork effect or white with a blue pattern. We're thinking of putting a daybed in there that turns into a double to give us more room when we don't have visitors, and then putting a wardrobe in the small room for all our work clothes (so it ends up as a study/dressing room).
I need to do lots of measuring and working out as to what will fit where to find the best way to fit it all in! And decide on the colour for the spare room. I think the rest can stay the same as they work as they are.0 -

Just over an hours ironing accomplished, and maybe 30 mins left. :j
Had another go at Operation Shed with DH and DS - several spiders evicted, some rubbish sorted to take to the tip tomorrow and a small hole located that mice have been getting in  DH promises that this will be filled with expandable filler in the morning and mouse trap set. As long as only mice in there!! We have had trouble with bigger versions at that end of the garden so am now paranoid that we clear all the floor of the shed, and the rest is tidy so we can see if we have trouble..:o And the neighbouring compost heap will need to be moved...
OK best go retrieve cleaner boy from the bath, and do stories, then sort some dinner for DH. Laters,
